Anti-India Countries on Kashmir; Malaysia and Turkey Seek Supply of 'Game-Changer' Drug

Although we are a good nation and will not hold back on this life saving drug.
I just had an evil idea, why don’t ask the premiers of Malaysia and turkey to kneel down and apologise for their anti India stand for us to export the drug.
It's not people, these are countries. We gain nothing in forcing their hand. We simply need to shut up about this whole HCQ saga and work quietly.

This is not a game changing drug lol. If it was usa wont have 3000 dead daily!! Wtf is wrong with dumb ppl....

Game changing drug will ensure world dont bleed trillions unlike current scenario.

We will have game changing drug when we will have a vaccine. And it will be either Chinese or American or some European country come up with it.

Combination of black seeds (habatul-sawda), garlic (thoom), natural honey, ginger, and lemon/grapefruit/orange is more effective in battling this disease. I have my sister-in-law and her family in UK affected by the Corona virus. They recovered from it. My brother recently traveled from Sweden to Somalia. He contracted the virus while traveling. He is 54 years of age. He told me yesterday he's 90% recovered from it. They all used those herbs.

These are the herbs recommended in Islam for medicinal purposes. Hopefully, you'll all have them handy. Please inform others to have them ready and take them on daily basis. These are herbs, so you have nothing to lose since there is no drug for Corona virus at this point. Building your immune system is the best way to fight it.

A typical propaganda news... the main message in the subtitle is to try to politicize by associating a global pandemic with the Kashmir problem. Turkey is currently providing medical support to Israel and Armenia. Will this situation play a role in ongoing political issues across countries? Probably not ... Armenia will not give up the Karabakh invasion. Israel will not give up the blockade of Gaza.

If we underline to most funny things about the news; Its offered as a game changer(editor's claim) - hydroxychloroquine - actually an extremely simple process.

Since it is a small molecular API , active ingredient is one of the easier one. It is not such as Alzheimer drugs, which are needs around 6-9 months for able to produce molecules. hydroxychloroquine probably needs 2-3 week production process.

This is an inexpensive product(low profitability) for western companies and explains why they avoid production. As it was originally a medicine for malaria, its main market was Africa and some Southeast Asian countries. Therefore, its also explain why the Indian pharmaceutical industry care much about this group of drugs, from years.

When the license period on a molecule expires, European and US API makers usually licensed it to China and India's large producers, where it can be made cheaper to manufacture. Mostly they produce only a limited amount of products for finished product form in Europe and the USA. With this way, Chinese and Indian medicine manufacturers also supply APIs to countries outside the US, Europe, Japan, along with their own markets.

Turkey supply its most of hydroxychloroquine needs from India, since years. Like many other countries. However, this situation was reported in a different way in the news because of propaganda purposes. The reality is that hydroxychloroquine imports have been going on for years.

But, why is Turkey always stock these drugs, much more than any non-African or non-east Asian countries? Bcs unlike the world, it is used as the main drug in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in Turkey. This situation makes Turkey one of the main customers of this drug (Plaquenil), for years.

Now if you read the news again with this information, you can see the editor's real aim.

Spot on...Politics of Kashmir should be treated separately than this corona episode...

Malaysia is no longer a problem country. Since India retaliated and stopped crude palm oil imports, the following happened:

1. India's import curbs deal big blow to Malaysian palm oil

Then

2. Malaysia wants to resolve palm oil spat with India within a month, minister of plantation industries and commodities says

Then

3. Malaysia's PM-in-waiting seeks end to palm tension with India

Then

4. Malaysia offers to increase imports from India after Kashmir row

and finally, the coupe-de-grace

5. Malaysia’s sugar import from India hits a record

Not only did India decrease imports from Malaysia, they now import from more India.

Mahathir overplayed his hand. He is an older gentleman and likely thought of India as it was a couple of decades back. India today is not what it was even a decade back. This entire episode turned out to be great for India.

There should now be no hesitation in resuming full relations with Malaysia. You can bet that going forward, as the Indian economy continues to transform, there would be more changes.

That said, India currently has very little trade and therefore very little leverage with Turkey.

That is hardly a victory considering how both Malaysia and Turkey confronted RSS maniacs to bribe their way out of humiliation. If anything, the sequence of events clearly highlight how India is on the backfoot and forced to bribe its way out. Hardly worthy of democratic values.

LOL there is one thing RSS cannot do and that is to work quietly. RSS hatred against Muslims is now a well documented fact. RSS shouts and screams brazenly against Muslims. It is part of the RSS DNA to scream against Muslims. Don't expect haters to work quietly.

This drug is completely unproven and doctors say that its export should be stopped as it appears it actually makes COVID-19 worse.

Absolutely. Indians always have to brag about how great and wonderful they are even when dealing with pandemics. Typical macho behaviour. In reality this drug doesn't even cure the virus. The drug worsens the symptoms. So much for exporting the drug and helping the world.

I think you're criticizing because you are wired to oppose anything Indian without applying your mind.

'Backfoot'/'humiliation' is hardly how I would describe the current situation. You're talking more like a village bumpkin than someone thinking strategically from the perspective of nations. India took unilateral and unprecedented action on Kashmir. Did you think GoI anticipated no coercion and pushback? They did. They anticipated that India today has enough diplomatic and economic muscle to withstand any and all international criticism of its action in Kashmir. That has come to pass as no country could make India accept concessions on changing the status of Kashmir.

China has been at the forefront of using economic coercion to achieve diplomatic results. Any criticism of China results in swift diplomatic and economic retaliation. India could not do that till now and this has started to change. The truth of the matter is that India, till very recently, had little to no economic muscle to coerce other countries into falling in line with its vision. It was evident when India grinned and just gave mild diplomatic retorts to criticism coming its way from different countries. This is more of a coming of age story. As India gets stronger economically and as its economy meshes with the rest of the worlds' economy, India would resort to economic threats and action to achieve its diplomatic goals.

Malaysia, under its erstwhile leader, was under the impression that they could get away with criticising India without cost to themselves. They predicted that India would act like it did in the past. That is no longer the case.

Following increased demand for hydroxychloroquine from 30 countries, India cleared the supply of the drug to 13 countries, including the US, last week. India had earlier banned the export of the drug, but this was lifted following a retaliation threat from the US. Malaysia and Turkey have joined the list of countries seeking a supply of hydroxychloroquine from India, sources in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs have revealed.

“India is considering the supply request. However, decision is yet to be made in this regard”, the ministry sources said.
On the other hand, Malaysia’s government has confirmed the supply of the drug and requested another batch from India.

“On 14 April, India has given permission for Malaysia to import 89,100 tablets”, Malaysia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kamarudin Jaffar told Reuters on Wednesday. “We will try to get more hydroxychloroquine tablets from India, which is also subject to stock availability”.

The request from Malaysia and Turkey to India has come as a surprise as the two countries have a strong anti-India stance with regard to the Kashmir issue, which has also impacted New Delhi’s trade ties with these countries.

In February, Turkey condemned the deaths of Muslims in the suburbs of the national capital Delhi following communal clashes. India lodged a strong protest against the “unwarranted remarks”.

On the other hand, Malaysia, which shares close ties with Pakistan, sparked tensions between itself and India on 30 September at the UN. Then Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad accused India of “occupying Kashmir” with regard to the abrogation of Article 370.

Without mentioning the conflict, India has cut its palm oil imports from the country, which used to be more than nine million tons annually

Indians are lowest level, they are now trading human life base on politics. What a shame.
