reminds me of Hakeem Saaed who was made governor in zia's time, was a nice time, alas he was then martyred

I came to know of the name 'Ansar Burney' a long time ago. In my neighborhood in Karachi in late 70's or early 80's there were graffiti saying 'Ansar Burney ko raha karo' (Free Ansar Burney).
While I am not 100% sure I think he was put behind bars by the ruthless Zia ul Haq who hounded thousands of PPP workers all over Pakistan and imprisoned and tortured them for years.

He is a very good fellow and has very long history of public service. His choice as the Governor of Sindh is excellent. It remains to be seen if he accepts that--knowing what MQM is going to do now.

I don't know if he has the necessary skills, but i do believe he has the earnest temperament & the desire to be a very good governor. This could be a master move.
