According to Textron, Cessna Aircraft's parent company, The price of $1.8 billion is too much for a bankrupt civil aircraft company.

They're paying way too much for Hawker.

Hawker Beechcraft is a struggling plane maker with limited technology (mainly propellers) and very bad management. The CEO is ok, but the rest of the entrenched management team will bring disastrous results to anyone who's stupid enough to acquire it.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Chinese do acquire it though. If nothing else, they have an established brand name. The Chinese should honestly have enough confidence to brand-build their own though, it's just far better to have your own brand.
