8.2 Ingenieurpartnerschaft Obst & Ziehmann has been acting as Lender’s Technical Advisor to the Bank of Punjab in the largest solar power plant project in Pakistan to date. In an official inauguration ceremony chaired by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the first project phase with an installed capacity of 100 MWp is being connected to the electricity grid today, the 5th of May, 2015. The plant is the pilot project in the framework of the 1,000 MWp Quaid-e Azam Solar Park near Bahawalpur, located in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
8.2 is committed to long-term engagement in Pakistan, the company already secured various orders not connected to the Quaid-e Azam Solar Park. .
Together with on-going orders within the Quaid-e Azam Solar Park, 8.2 currently works on a combined solar power plant capacity exceeding 1 GWp in Pakistan. „These projects are in different development phases“, said Dietmar Obst, Managing Partner of 8.2. “We benefit from the experience gained over the past year and are very proud to be able to support the further growth of solar power generation in the Punjab province with our expertise“.
