What's new

And now Punjab government's Solar power project flops !

The project is not flopped completely but we can say that it was ill planned and mis managed. They should have built 100 MW parks in 10 different areas rather than a single 1000 MW park. Even US did not made a park of more than 450 MW capability. Electric supply companies should install parks of KWs capacity in multiple cities. It will be easy to maintain and to distribute.

This is so when Zardari and the family visit Pakistan, he has a place to go do large family BBQ Zardari style. So he asked a friend in Sindh Engro to open up a Charcoal plant. So this 660 MW will be used for these massive grills that Zardari is getting installed in a massive area inside Thar with Arab prince like tents and all, where he and family would go use the Charcoal grills to cookout BBQ meat. Just joking!!

By the way on the topic, projects do fail. In fact, 25% of big projects fail. Every failure should be investigated and if there is no foul play and corruption, it was just humans or natural or unnatural issues that might happen from time to time.

For example, see this, these same statistics are applicable across everything else, this is an excerpt by Garner Inc, who is a top end research and standards company and their word on stuff is taken as "the industry standard": I can't post the link as you have to have membership to Garner and I obviously can't share my login as its a good few thousands of dollars to be a member. But here:

" In analyzing the collective responses of some 150 participants in the 2011 Gartner five-country survey, the failure rate of IT projects with budgets exceeding $1 million was found to be almost 50% higher than for projects with budgets below $350,000.2 At 25% and 28% respectively, the failure rates of midsize and large projects are similar, and in both cases, nearly one-third higher than the 20% failure rate observed for small projects (with budgets below $350,000). Overall, the results of this survey are consistent with what we have observed when we have polled this question previously, and we are seeing a pattern emerging where small IT projects experience a one-third lower failure rate than large projects 3"

How many MW they added in national Grid

Bro, you do realize that you are replying to a paid Pee Pee Pee poster, right? Kyun is bechary ki naukari k peechay paray ho? I actually feel pity for this guy. This is a very shit job to have lol.

OMG!! I can't stop laughing! You would fit fine with PTI supporters in going after PMLN!

I don't think @Qalandari should be banned. He has contributed a lot of useful threads too. Maybe a bit propagandist but at least there is someone in this forum advocating for the (once) largest political party of Pakistan.

Plus add, Cheecho ki Maliyan power plant, another flopped project.. :hitwall:

What has IK done that sucessful??? WAIT, I forgot, he does NOT do anything. He just criticizes, will someone get him a job replacing that corrupt Lick-Man in ARY? IK would be a good journalist. In fact this is the best career for him. Don't do anything (as always), just TALK and complain about everything others are doing. But God forbid, don't ever do something, even building a 10 rupee sweet cookie for his followers :cheesy:

When people take risks and projects are run, 25% of the projects have serious risk of failure. The remainder 75% projects, ALL go through a life cycle, with which, 100% of these projects encounter risks of delays, late labor, manufacturing, shipments due to bad weather, snow, rain, sick people and all. Nothing you can do, this is how projects work.

If there is no corruption, than its fine. When billions are put into work, the ones which will be successful would triple up the money. Plus, your dad or IK isn't putting their personal money in. And by the way, what about the billions lost in IK's sit-ins? That's all allowed, but stuff being done in good faith and with international experts, if fails is an issue? This is like the Devil says "be careful there is a Devil out there"

I agree with the general idea you presented. But the issue is, Pakistan's depth isn't much. So a storm or Cloud system that can disrupt the supply of sun shine, would usually over cast a region's Clouds easily, as there isn't much depth there.
But these are the first plants, the new tech has been introduced and is being managed by Pakistanis. Now there will be a support system built by the local businesses. Then, this entire Solar tech will become whole sale available to the masses as it will all be made in Pakistan (or majority of it would be). So if the first one or two plans had to be built with the Chinese input and standards (100 MW and 10000 MW), then so be it. You get the entire tech, process, manufacuring an management of it through working on it, not just paying for TOT and doing yourself (like India does and they fail a LOT and have wasted billions such as Kaveri engine, or LCA or SAMS as just a few examples).

When you want to join the big boy club and toy with all kinds of tech and all, you'll burn your hands playing with fire once in a while. No bigy, that's how you learn new things.

Who's the Horse? Zardari? He's not a horse...he's a horse trader. A much bigger corruption filled deal than a simple horse. He LOVES to go gamble on horses in Kentucky Derby, and waste millions in Atlantic City Casinos in NJ. Ask me what and how much I know. I actually accompanied him to Donald Trump's Taj Mahal Casino. The rest, I'll keep as a part of the history.
