- According to H.W.Bellow , the "Ispioi" of Arrian (Greek historian) are "Aspaspioi" of strabbo (Greek historian). The historian of later period Curtis mention them as ""Ariaspai" in Candor (Kandahar) country. It is a well-known fact that actual name of Yousafzai in Pashto is "Isap-zi", thats how we pronounce it in Pashto.
- The "Isapi" who were in possession of country between Swat and Kabul. were deported along with their neighbours, the ancient Gandharais, by white huns to Tarnak valley (Zabul) and there they settled on banks of Tarnak river in fifth century A.D
- while migrating , they took bathing pot of buddha from Peshawer. This huge bowl, seven feet in diameter, was found in 1872 in the old Kandahar city (ancient Kandahar was demolished by Nadir Shah Afshar in 1738, present day Kandahar was built on new location). It was taken to Kabul museum in 1925. Nancy Hatch Dupree calls it Buddha's begging pot.
- Kandahar is probably corrupted version of these gandaharis.
- It is assumed this indian stock blended with the Afghans and the whole stock became Afghans. The Isapis among them, begin to call themselves Isap-zais, the descendants of Isap. These tribes migrated to Kabul in 15th century from Kandhar-helmand rgion as recorded by Akhund Darweza and were expelled from Kabul by Babur's uncle Mirza Ulug Beg in late 15th century so that Babur finds them fresh arrivals to Peshawer valley and swat in early 16th century.
