To live in a fool`s paradise is bliss but for how long??

Dear Indians,

Feel the pulse of The Kashmiri people, are they really talking about supporting you and other political parties supported/protected by India or are they talking about ways to counter the Indian occupation despite the fact that the whole world these days seems to be with the Indian opinion including the Government in Pakistan. The supporters of National Conference/PDP and other Indian political parties are seen as enemies (agents of India) by an overwhelming majority of Kashmiri people
To make you guyz understand my point try answering or at least giving a thought to these Questions:

1) Are these 7.2 million Kashmiri people crazy?

I mean why keep fighting against a country that is 1.3 billion strong and an army which is arguably one of the 10 best in the world plus an economy that is growing at 9 percent annually (PHENOMENAL GROWTH). Now a mind that can make those beautiful silk and wool rugs/carpets which have a language of their own, those exquisite wood-carvings, that ethereal papier-mâché box, that intricate khatamband on your ceiling, those exotic samovars in copper or that delicate Pashmina shawl with fabulous embroidery is surely highly evolved and intelligent. Why then are these kashmiri people so stupid and not see what you indians are showing them?

2)What do you think needs to be done by you or the other Indians/politicians to change this attitude/belief in the majority of Kashmiri people?

3) What is this subconscious feeling that gives these people a ludicrous sentiment called “Aazadi” despite their numerous shortcomings when it comes to actually getting that “Aazadi”?

4) In a world where energy costs are soaring will you Indians ever be able to tap the full potential of Kashmiri people without changing the Indus Water treaty as it stands today? Haven’t you grossly wronged us here?

5) And will India/Pakistan ever let you change this ridiculous treaty because to do that they would have to give Kashmir an independent status first?

6)Does this mean that we have to forever live in perpetual darkness at the cost of being totally dependent on these nations for all our essential commodities/services/progress?

7) Why is it that in Kashmir even a small child in an expensive private public school is more likely to support the Pakistan cricket team than the Indian team??

8 )All these people know that Pakistan is nothing better than India, maybe even worse but still they keep on cheering the Pakistan team!!!!! Why? I mean India has almost 300 million Muslims living inside it. Why then do these Kashmiris have this crazy sentiment of supporting your enemy? Surely it can’t be the Muslim sentiment as in that case they should be supporting India which has many more Muslims?

9) Is singing the Indian National Anthem or performing the great Indian rope trick going to help you Indians change the mindset of these foolish Kashmiri people? Why is it then that even after being with India for 60 years, Kashmiri people still want independence?

10)Do you need to change their ideology by giving them an even stronger ideology or are these people (who over the ages have been Pagans, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists and now Muslims) refractive to your promise of a better future?

11) Or is it that “As these people are NOT listening to your ideology/viewpoint, then why not do what you have been doing for the last 60 years or so” i.e. with the help of your brutal/barbaric Indian army continue beating the sh*t out of them till these stupid peasants stop complaining and start following your democratic view-point??

12) OR IS IT TIME MY DEAR INDIAN THAT YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOURSELF?????

Kashmiris although small in numbers vis a vis India are an intelligent people, do not underestimate their resilience and periods of silence as a sign of weakness. The recent protests are not a once upon a time kind of phenomenon on the contrary, it is a continual warning, a declaration, a gale force wind before the actual storm. Change is constant as life itself is dynamic, the ones who adapt and change will be the ones who survive. Kashmiris have survived a millennium as kashmiris. Chances are that they will survive this particular onslaught too, or in other words you may be surrounded by a few immoral kashmiri supporters and hindutva fanatics who make you feel that your current path is the right one but at the end of the day these supporters are nothing but greedy opportunistic individuals only interested in forwarding their own private causes at the expense of their honest, trustworthy and hard-working fellow kashmiris.

A simple god-fearing individual in Kashmir/jammu is not voting for you because he/she loves india and respects its constitution. He is voting for you because at the moment the poor downtrodden fella has no other option and he needs to survive the moment he gets to cast a neutral vote, he will let you and all the other indian politicians know what he thinks of you, india and your pseudo-democratic ideology!!!!!!!!

Today, my dear human Indian, when you get time, look at yourself in a mirror, ask your soul/conscience a simple question .Are you Indians doing the right thing in Kashmir? If your conscience is not prejudiced, you will get the right answer.

Don't you think same thing applies to Pakistan also.

.
This is letter from one Kashmiri may be. We are waiting to hear from (7.2 Mn-1).......

. .
If you are so troubled in India, why don't you just pack your bags and leave for the land of the pure where people are more than willing to put their arms around you and sing duets with you?

Why not just leave just like millions of people left their homes and property and headed for newer lands in 1947?

If it happened once, it can happen again. You don't want to be associated with India? Feel free to leave.

. .
I an Indian, am totally convinced that what we are doing is absolutely correct. We need to further remove the special status given to J&K and totally integrate them into India. People from all over India should have right to settle in Kashmir, buy property and make it permanent home. Once this is done, in a decade, there will not be any more Kashmir problem. Our politicians are stupid, they should draw lessons from China and do what China is doing in Tibet....we have been trying to be too idealistic..

Thats not the way we treat fellow Indians. Thoda bhatakgaye hai. Thoda samay aur these guys will realize what the idea of India is. The world is shrinking. See the EU. all different countries come together to become one union. India is a similar idea born in the last century.

You can see where the Pakistan controlled Kashmir is when compared to Indian controlled. Article 370 is hindering Private investments. Jammu and Kashmir has a huge potential for industry and investment, especially the IT sector, but the bar under Article 370 on absolute ownership of land for outsiders is somewhat of a dampener.

.
For the sake of argument let me assume that the situation in kashmir is entirely indigenous and no other country has done anything to aggravate it.

1) Are these 7.2 million Kashmiri people crazy?

Sorry to say but I dont see why should not be considered so. They choose to support militants against the army and then expect the army to be nice to them. They Call for bandhs, protests, and throw stones at the police. Then they return the next day for more protests and stone pelting against the police brutality the previous day. Its not just the stone pelting. Public property was burned. Thats considered arson.
They call the J&K police indians when all of them are natives. How logical is that? They want to either join Pakistan or gain independence instead of being part of a fast growing economy with potentially the largest market for their products.
And at the end of all that stone pelting and berating the police they turn up at the police and army recruitment centers in the thousands.

Please tell me how are they being logical and not crazy.

What do you think needs to be done by you or the other Indians/politicians to change this attitude/belief in the majority of Kashmiri people?

The indian politicians can do very little. As long as the militants keep cropping up and being violent, an army presence is necessary. The est they can do is to strengthen the police force to the point that the army isnt needed to fight the militants. With kashmiri police fighting militants, maybe things will improve. I do consider invloving the army in kashmir a mistake. The army was never armed or prepared to fight in such a scenario.

What is this subconscious feeling that gives these people a ludicrous sentiment called “Aazadi” despite their numerous shortcomings when it comes to actually getting that “Aazadi”?

By what i have read, this feeling is a consequence of a feeling of oppression the kashmiris feel because of the huge army presence and the regular check points etc. The tragedy however is that, 'azadi' in the minds of the kashmiri has become the silver bullet which will end all social ills. They claim that the roads are bad because they dont have azadi. that the prices are high because they dont have azadi, there aint enough jobs because they dont have azadi. Its become so dogmatic that people dont even think about how 'azadi' will change or improve their lives.

In a world where energy costs are soaring will you Indians ever be able to tap the full potential of Kashmiri people without changing the Indus Water treaty as it stands today? Haven’t you grossly wronged us here?

What are you trying to say here? Are you saying that the IWT is unfair to kashmiris and needs to be changed? Please elaborate on this before i can reply.

And will India/Pakistan ever let you change this ridiculous treaty because to do that they would have to give Kashmir an independent status first?

The IWT is between India and Pakistan. If both of them desire, it can be changed at will without kashmiri 'azadi' coming into play.

Does this mean that we have to forever live in perpetual darkness at the cost of being totally dependent on these nations for all our essential commodities/services/progress?

Perpetual darkness? again please elaborate.

Why is it that in Kashmir even a small child in an expensive private public school is more likely to support the Pakistan cricket team than the Indian team??

I doubt that its true. I have been there. Even if it was, you are just repeating points 1 and 3. People dont like Indian armed forces intruding on their lives. They want 'azadi'. So they support whoever is against India.

All these people know that Pakistan is nothing better than India, maybe even worse but still they keep on cheering the Pakistan team!!!!! Why? I mean India has almost 300 million Muslims living inside it. Why then do these Kashmiris have this crazy sentiment of supporting your enemy? Surely it can’t be the Muslim sentiment as in that case they should be supporting India which has many more Muslims?

India does not have 300million muslims. Also you are just repeating previous points. As I mentioned above. Its about 'azadi'. People want to be rid of the intrusions of the armed forces. They wrongly think that azadi will bring about a better kashmir for them. They do whatever they are told is anti indian.

Is singing the Indian National Anthem or performing the great Indian rope trick going to help you Indians change the mindset of these foolish Kashmiri people? Why is it then that even after being with India for 60 years, Kashmiri people still want independence?

Not those two. But jobs and civil amenities can change minds :D. Also you are wrong about Kashmiris wantig independence for 60 years. This call for azadi is a phenomena which started in late 1980s. before that there wasnt a call for azadi. In 1965 the kashmiris tipped off the Indian army about pakistani intrusions, and for a very very long time kashmir was a favorite destination for bollywood. Even at the time of Kargil, the initial tip offs were provided by the very kasmiris who you claim hate india.

Or is it that “As these people are NOT listening to your ideology/viewpoint, then why not do what you have been doing for the last 60 years or so” i.e. with the help of your brutal/barbaric Indian army continue beating the sh*t out of them till these stupid peasants stop complaining and start following your democratic view-point??

Again. Its not 60 years. Its 20.
Also, you think democracy is a bad thing? The people should not have a say in the government? People should not choose who governs them and how?

OR IS IT TIME MY DEAR INDIAN THAT YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOURSELF?????

Me? No.
The government policies? Yes. They need to stop looking for a military or political solution. The problem is more socio economic and should be dealt accordingly. More and better jobs. Btter living standards. These are the things that will solve this problem. Unless of course kashmiris are genuinely crazy and dont want to think logically.

Now, let me rant on a little. What changes to the kashmiris expect with the coming of 'azadi' ? Do they think the likes of LeT will just lay down and not try to become kings in a country they helped liberate? Azadi will mean that the money being pumped from india will dry up. How will this new state survive without industries and little arable land? Will it become a client state to China? or maybe pakistan? Would azadi automatically remove all forms of corruption in the bureaucracy? Will the political parties stop fighting each other and do something good for the kashmiris?
I accepted your assertion in the first point that all kashmiris want azadi. That is clearly not true. Thinking kashmiris realise that life wont change for the better. They tip off the army about militants. They join the police and try to keep public order. They join the various govt agencies and ensure that as many roads are built and as many villages get clean drinking water as possible.
Kashmiris have been ruling themselves for a long time. The constitution forbids the central govt to act in kashmir against the wishes of the state govt. This govt is clearly elected by the people. So kashmiris are ruling themselves now and they will rule themselves after azadi oo. Things wont change.

Reply to this One Kashmiri:(As i personally know not all 7.2 million kashmiris want freedom from India)

and funny thing is in this whole letter..U ask us indians why Kashmiris are supposedly asking for freedom..but u yourself do not give any reasons for this...
So my question is....Why do u want freedom..???why is a kashmiri special from lets say..a tamilian or a keralite or a marathi or a bangali or a gujrati or a jat or a punjabi.Even these ppl have a history which will rival any gr8 civilizations..they have very diverse and unique culture.
I am an Indian..iam also a bengali..i have not lost my bengali identity just because iam an indian....so again iam asking this kashmiri..what is the reason for ur asking for independence..?What is the difference of ideology between kashmiris and others, that u are asking for freedom???

U blame Indian Armed forces for all ur troubles not unlike our neighbors in the west who whine and point fingers at USA(Christians)/Israelis(Jews)/us(Hindus-according to u) for every problem in their country??(did u notice they dont blame any muslim country for their problems???)
Indian Army only came in Kashmir in 1989...Did u even try to find out what was the reason for their 'invasion' as u claim???
Let me tell u..u can give hundreds of BS reasons for ur..but at the heart of it...it is nothing but a religious struggle..Ur eternal brainwashing-how can a muslim live with a hindu as equal? ur so called 1000 yr rule theory...

U say this has nothing to do with Religion!!...did u write about those half a million kashmiri pandits homes, who were living in Kashmir for hundreds of years and now live as refugees in their own country??did u write a letter to ur Pakistani masters asking them to be allowed back to their ancestral homes??...Oh wait!! Kashmiri pandits are not muslims..so can be murdered or left helpless,..isn't it???

Lastly i just want to tell u something u have been hearing for a long time...but let me shout that "KASHMIR is INTEGRAL PART of INDIA"http://*************.net/flag-smiley-7331.gif

To live in a fool`s paradise is bliss but for how long??

The author is the one living in a fool's paradise, it seems. Apart from some people in the congested parts of some urban areas of Kashmir Valley, there is nobody who is listening to him.

The author should understand that the Jihad which began by the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus in 1991 has now reached a dead end.

.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY WHAT YOU DO...USE VIOLENCE,BARGAIN,BLACKMAILING or ANYTHING THAT COMES TO YOUR MIND...INDIA WILL NOT AND NEVER LET KASHMIR GO!!period
