2 weeks ago italian interior minister Salvini ordered Lucano to be arrested. His money is frozen and the city under government administration.

Salvini also ordered that all migrants get arrested and deported into central camps, where their status will be checked and deportation prepared.

Yesterday 43 busses arrived at early morning in Riace and the Carabinieri arrested all migrants. They were brought to the Bari deportation camp.

Salvini said on Twitter: "What will all Do-Gooders who want flood Italy with human meat say now?".

Within 4 days Salvini crushed what Lucano build up in 20 years.

On what charges was the mayor arrested? Surely, he wasn't arrested for his policies regarding immigration. There must've been some legal reason for it.

With regards to the businesses they immigrants were provided with (olive fields etc), what was their status prior to being handed over to the immigrants?

How about Italy takes back Malta, Corsica, Savoy, Monaco, Nice and Dalmatia.

A lot of these people there have Italian blood perfect to bring the fertility rates up rather than relying on immigrants.

I agree with you partly.

However Italy needs immigrants that are able to do manual work like working the fields. These immigrants were productive members of society as they were working, not committing crime and hence benefitting Italy.

Currently Italy's population is dropping by -0.2% a year which is ok but as each woman is having around 1 less child than replacement level, once the current generation of child-bearing women are passed having children then the number of babies being born each year will only be a fraction of the people that are retired and needing looking after. The mathematics of this cannot be easily explained to make it easily understandable but without a certain level of unskilled immigration Italian society will collapse some decades in the future.
