Americans are risking destroying the whole Earth

I actually am sympathetic to the case of Iraq, and I've made it known in prior posts in 2014. To me, Saddam was a necessity in holding together the various ethnicities, religious groups (Sunni, Shia, Coptics, Catholics, Yizidi, Jews et al). He was a hard-liner, and no one can deny that he was brutal against rebels (and i am in on way excusing his excessive brutality towards the kurds), but i admire his policy of national solidarity.

Had Iraq not invaded Kuwait, everything could have been prevented. Sad to see the situation of Iraq nowadays. Again, its only through hindsight can we make such a introspective analysis.
Kuwait invasion was encouraged by the US indirectly... now that is a different story...
the west only knows bloodshed, and will do anything to make sure Israel is happy...

Whatever the motive was to invade Kuwait; tho I remember reading that it was due to competitive oil prices; coupled with the fact that Saddam thought it was owed to him to have significant financial reimbursement for the economic and military toll in which Iraq bore most of the brunt against the Revolutionary Iranian Republic. The point is -- it was a failure in strategic depth on his part, and those of his Generals in -- miscalculating the international resolve.

Saddam shouldn't have invaded Kuwait, inmho.

I'm open to your input, as i'm open to learning more about the situation and hearing other point(s) of views.

I agree, Saddam should have never invaded Kuwait... but you know Saddam relation with the US was good, the US knew of the Saddam plans to invade Kuwait, the military build up on the border was obvious... The US encouraged Saddam plans and gave him the green light.. US ambassador even told Saddam himself that Kuwait's oil belongs to Iraq.. the west hit two birds in one stone with Saddam invasion, it made other gcc countries fear Saddam, thus they bought a lot of American military equipment and asked the US for protection, and the creation coalition forces was created paid by the gcc petrodollar... Saddam was US ally, but the US turned him into an enemy, he expired for them, he was being to much anti-Israel..

I remember when I was a child, was about 5 when the 1st Iraq War was starting and in Japanese Media, it was a huge press coverage on the war -- and remember , still, my father showing his distaste for the war. Iraq seemed to us -- as the leader of the Arab World at the time -- literally had the largest and greatest Armed Forces during that time. And relations between Iraq and Japan were very cordial, i think relations between Iraq and most of the West was quite cordial (heck, even France was looking to build a nuclear reactor for Iraq).

I agree with you that it was just a poor decision for him to go in Kuwait. He could have solved the issue of fiscal woes through foreign loans, even could have sought American intervention -- but when he sent the Iraqi Army into Kuwait, that not only stirred fears of Kuwait, but also to KSA, Qatar, UAE. In my view, that war could have been prevented.

It is indeed a travesty --- what has happened to Iraq. And I will admit it here that I have a sympathetic view for Iraq.

so why haven't USA attacked North Korea?? North Korea is not a threat to Israel?

North Korea is in China's backward, and the US would certainly love to bomb them, but China won't allow such action to light up the powder keg in its own backward.

.
@Falcon29 so who allowed the US and the west to interfere in the Arab world? why anti-western countries are getting bombed by the US with the help of "Arab" countries starting with Iraq, Libya and now Syria??
before you blame your enemy which is natural action by the US to do all of that to Arabs, you better start with Arabs for allowing the US to do all this chaos in Arab region...

the question shall be asked ............isnt @Falcon29 himself living in America???

And I am not allowed to speak my opinion? America's policy in ME causes instability which is spilling over into more and more countries and eventually will affect regional stability. And the American policy against Palestinians is absolutely immoral. You may disagree or not disagree. But what does my residence have to do with it?

A fellow Baathist hating another Baathist ? :cheesy:

Instead of working 'together' they incite and repudiate each other.

The Ba'athist party from both country has proposed the unification long time ago, but each side was trying to assume the dominance over the other side.

Thus, the unification was never successful when the new leadership after the unification couldn't be compromised.

In fact Saddam can get away of invading or occupying kuwait, US knows about it, and it is believe that there are secret communique between US and Iraq limiting the war on only capturing Kuwaiti Oil field and once they were captured, the Iraqi would have left. That would be enough for US to pay back what Iraqi think the US owe them during the Iran-Iraq war.

Now for reason beyond our imagination, this is not to be, the Iraqi troop occupied Kuwait and they actually trying to annex and dispel the Kuwaiti royalty, whats more is they (Iraqi) try to attack and invade the US moderate allied in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. That is the red line for the US to act, infact, hostility between US, Saudi and the iraqi have started long before the first gulf war.

Maybe Saddam took the US blessing too far or he think he can litrrally took Kuwait and then Saudi without any foreign intervention? Gods knows

Mate, my post is directed at American Govt. And I tried making it that clear. I do not hate America. I know many Americans who support Palestinians. And it's gaining lots of pace. Many Europeans and Americans are supporting our cause on increasing basis.

This forum and one another forum online make it seem otherwise. Because this forum has a vocal right wing neocon minority. They are many on this forum but are minority around world.

Best thing is to keep spreading awareness.

I don't believe lobbying would work...even US politicians who oppose such a policy I mentioned are thrown under the bus and demonized in US media. Look at Ron Paul or Chuck Hagel...

They were mowed down for their views on Israel. How can Americans change that?
