American sponsored Taliban and implications for Pakistan

Russia n iran r providing ammo definitely but 2 their factions. Historically, these countries inclined towards northern alliance but recently these developed relations n intersts wd Taliban so saying that these r full filling the demands of ammo isn't altogether right.

The only proof of our influence on Taliban is that we have not been sanctioned till now n the recent Pentagon's contact with our Foreign office after the tweet Trump did.

Totally incorrect analysis.

Its your opinion n u have every right to say that but i put my analysis with arguments n i don't need 2 enforce my point but i will say wait n watch.
The only thing which is allowing us to float among the ships of heavyweights is our sheer influence over the future of this region which definitely comes to the our assets in disguise.

Specious arguments and self-congratulations don't change anything. You are ridiculously naive.

I never read your above article.
But the thing is that, taliban has no choice then to be on good terms with us, they are in good terms with Russia, they can even be on good terms with isreal if they offer them support.
These are changed taliban, don't expect them to obey Pakistan as they used to do.
It's like playing with fire, it can go wrong.
We need to be very very careful with them .
Their is definately huge trust deficit though the don't show it.
They don't obey us and though they seek our support but they do have negative sentiments too

Now imagine how the situation can be exploited by America by dangling the right carrots and engineering a clash.

Btw, this is the way of geniuses to counter the argument? If it is so then Hails to the genius. Let me b naive...
This decade or perhaps months to come will be the witnesses of AFGHANISTAN solution we will see.

Mate, the topic at hand requires informed opinion and your posts suggest total cluelessness. You are better off spending time elsewhere.

That is mostly our fault. Pakistan under Musharraf backstabbed them and sold many of their leaders to US for dollars. It also increased anti-Pakistani sentiment among all Afghanistans. We did wrong here and we need to accept it.

Still the US and allies cannot prove anything against Pakistan but empty rhetoric that we support them.

ISI spent many decades entrenching in Afghanistan, and now we are still seeing the fruits of that policy, especially every time Indian consulate or workers get attacked.

Because there is no trail US and allies can find, doesn’t mean there is no physical support. They have proven to be wholly ineffectual and worthless in Afghanistan as a whole.

.
It's more the case that our own decisions have led to losing the cause. We have vested interests in Afghanistan and so far, publicly available information shows that we are hurting those interests through poor decision making. Hopefully, there is some deeper leverage that we hold, but so far, that does not seem to be the case.

By all indications, the saga is trending towards a conclusion of sorts, whatever it might be. I hope that Pakistan will be able to negotiate the best position for itself at the table. Failure to secure its western flank will put it in an uncomfortable vise for a long time to come.

We can only hope...

I would contend that Pakistan remains fully engaged in Afghanistan in pursuit of its national interests.

I am basing my opinion on publicly available news which seems pretty bleak. Do understand that this thread is meant to highlight a potential problem. There are many ifs and buts here, I just wanted to address them and bring to the front.

And so the picture emerges. A well equipped, well trained, competent Taliban holding anti-Pakistan sentiments, who have historical bones to pick with us and over whom we hold no leverage. To top it off, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan now enjoys sanctuary in Afghanistan, along with elements of ISIS. Add a bit of CIA pot stirring into the mix, and we have a potent mixture that will blow up on our faces. Causing a conflict between a highly Islamic Afghanistan and an increasingly secular and liberal Pakistan would be the ultimate revenge by the US which accuses Pakistan of double cross and back-stabbing.

Excerpt from what I wrote a few years ago. Now watch the following:

Make no mistakes. The chickens of our vile past are coming home to roost. This video should cause a lot of concern to the reader who loves Pakistan. Because this is irrevocable proof that Pakistan has lost the theological influence and superiority over Afghanistan. But it doesn't stop there. The theological ascendancy is paired with a unilateral view on how to fix Pakistan - Jihad. Under this dogma, the Afghan Taliban shall have no qualms in looking the other way on the transgressions of the TTP and its ilk. This is a situation that is ripe for RAW intervention.

If RAW succeeds in causing full scale warfare between Afghanistan and Pakistan, it will be the perfect background for the world to start shivering at the prospect of terrorists getting their hands on nukes. And we will find ourselves the subject of an intervention at a global scale with the specific aims of neutralizing our nukes. After that, the world will not care if India makes a second, third, or more Bangladesh-es out of us.

I invite readers to seriously ponder this matter.

Well, this is all about the fuy we have in PM seat. If he is a cuckold like Musharaf then yeh, I can see nukes being sold. But if we have decent PM and a COAS with nuts all he has to do is place his fingers on the green button and watch how fast they all run away, including Americans. Ultimately it's all about having a strong, secular government that has nurtured strong alligience with athiest Chinese and where mullahs are muzzled or better exported to Chinese internment camps. Under such scenario no amount of US pressure would buckle Pakistan.

Moral of story. Let us unite under a secular, progressive, pro China Pakistan.
Damn, this aged poorly. I wonder if Indus is around with another name.

This is why there needs to dead bodies hanging from every lamppost in Islamabad and Karachi. Kill 20k and save 240mn people. Those 20k will auction off everything and then move to a foreign country with their blood money.

Baffling!
How Pakistan has managed to bring the narrative to it's level. A shallow, shallow form of existence... meandering, second guessing and pussy footing!
How nuclear weapons, a case/narrative peddled by foreign powers/combined west formulated an opinion on Pakistani nukes falling in the wrong hands... and how Pakistanis have embraced that opinion. The nukes, like tusks on an elephant, were supposed to be a deterrent... instead have become a death call for the tusker! Wanted for that ivory...

The passive approach has come back to bite Pakistan, where it's own now peddle the same narrative, heedless! Why not... they can't see past their own shadows. I don't want to repeat what has already been said ad nauseum, by me and other posters here, however things are fundamentally wrong and a source of underlying negativity that has metastasized!
