America bashing Pakistan to please India

I firmly believe if we can resolve the Kashmir issue to the satisfaction of all three parties that Pakistan and India can move forward and become good friends. I wish we could do that so that we can live like good neighbours and improve our people not threaten each other with the shadow of the mushroom cloud.

I doubt that. men like Hafizz Sayeed or Zai Hamid are not going to go away even if we give away Kashmir to u in platter.

They consider India along with Spain as a failed Islamic project were islamic rule could not convert large mass of population. There goal is to islamize India, or to bring India under islamic rule. that is to kill 800 million hindus.

In this era of 24 hr television channel, where any one can see hafizz sayeed spewing venom against India and lakhs of people even children with toy guns in hand and chanting Death to India, no Indian would support their gov for giving an inch away in discussions with Pakistan..

I agree with your post.
We have had the misfortune of two hot borders so funds have been diverted to our armed forces. I am not in the zia-ul-haq camp and think that his policies were short sighted and shambolic for Pakistan. Of course it does not help to have a friend like the USA that left the brown people to stew in the crap left behind. The reason I say that the USA has been both negligent and racist in its dealing with Pakistan and Afghanistan is because of the of it’s history:
I know you will be aware that the USA implemented the Marshall Plan to rebuild Germany after the war, ie the US in a way rewarded the Germans even though they started the war and carried out the largest ethnic cleansing in history. For an ally the reward was a steaming pile of see you later and then sanctions. There is something wrong with the Americans when dealing with Muslims and our radiclisation occured as a result of these policies.

Just like the Germans, Pakistan needed help after the Russians left and in particular to settle Afghanistan. But instead it had the opposite.

The mullahs jumped in on the bandwagon, they are vultures feeding of the carcass of a disillusioned youth. Educated bored and unemployed young men waiting for their chance to grow and prosper and watching the world go past them.

Nice awareness, a bit late in the day, but never the less good to see people here shedding inhibitions to accept reality. Bad times and a string of them in a row does that to people, its during times like these that people realize the mistakes and try to rectify them. One thing I would like to add here with all sincerity is that Pakistan should forget the Kashmir issue for now...even better is it does forget it permanently, it will build up a lot of confidence in the relationship. There is a trend to conduct proxy wars targeting India, it would be great if those cease as well.

I guess the reason why America helped rebuild W. Germany (they controlled a third of it after the war) and Japan was because they were in direct conflict with them and the new regimes were pro-America (skeptics prefer to call them puppets). The US/Pakistan supported Afghan Jihad was a covert war against the Russians and once America achieved those objectives, they scooted leaving you guys to deal with the mess. You can blame Zia for his myopia, but even the leadership in the 90s didn't act smart by propping up the Taliban for whatever strategic advantages they imagined. I see a difference this time around. America is helping Afghanistan rebuild and like after WW2, has a government that is pro-America and will be maintaining presence for the distant future. US-Pakistan relationship right now is too complex at this point, and I can't gauge the direction it's going in.

As for the Kashmir issue, I prefer a permanent settlement but don't see genuine urgency on either side for doing anything. In the interest of moving on, we should move the issue to the back burner and live as responsible neighbors with good trade and cultural relations.
