Trillion dollar question which still remains will these assets be pressed into service in event of attack like 26\11.
Since there is no need for Pakistan to go to war with India as Pak based terrorist are doing a sufficiently fine job for them so hardly question arises of Pak attacking our forward bases.

MMRCA fighters are more likely to be pressed into service against the imaginary Yindoo Terrorist and Maoist and Arvind kejriwal gang than against a nation which is hell bent to destroy India.

hahaha so u want to become a america who even attacks others by self created reasons like WMDs in Iraq n bye the way yr country is fighting against the real terrorists who pose a thread to yr country first then of the real YAHOO or yr self proclaimed terrorists who actually r freedom fighters...

With air to air refueling,a su-30mki taking of from ANY base in india can operate at will over the eastern theatre.so IAF can easily do its job even if some FOBs are taken out by missiles.

It means we can blow it up with cruise missiles without getting a single fighter airborne without Ambala finding out what really hit it. Modern warfare has moved on.. Don't expect F-16s to come and bomb ambala, they can do so by launching Ra'ads 350kms away.

You will become bankrupt before taking Ambala cantonment down with CMs.

To deal with pakistan threat, there are airbases in Goa if include Indian Navy's air assets that would be pressed in to service. Then there is IAF base in pune which stations largest number Su 30 MKI.

But some IAF bases like the ones in Arga,Ambala ,Hindon near NCR and few other in J&K , can cater to thearts emerging from both chinese and pakstan if we are forced in to that kind of situation , E,g Agra airbase operates AWACS and C-17s which have significance for both china and pakistan.

The naval air bases would be needed for naval air operations and would already be utilized. There would be certain air bases which could be utilized both for China and Pakistan. Some however, would need air to air refueling for operations inside China. Or stage through operations could also be conducted from far away bases - but such operations in my opinion are more likely if the aircraft are not required in western or eastern theater or it is only one front war.

Bro than we have to nuke whole india and wipe the story once and for all. Isolated nuke attacks..nope i dont hink so..

Nuclear options are always there and should be considered within the ambiance of any war between the three nuclear powers. Resorting to only conventional war fighting options, is a thing of the past.

jf-17 is not an answer for either the operational MKI or the yet-to-be inducted Rafale.
neither is the projected FC-20, which hasn't even flown as yet.

Only F-16 can rival MKI but then MKI+Raffy is too much for any 4th gen jet in the whole world.

You clearly missed my sarcastic nature of the post ;)

Ambala Air Base, very much visible from the air due to it's lay out pattern. Never can be missed. :D

Yeah, China has India centric mentality as well as in the long term other potential enemies to look at, that is why its having lot of its assets based there, plus for a long time they have been making their infrastructure strong just across the Indian border, as they fear more of a Sino-Indo conflict in the short term.
build up strong military presence at border is to help Indian government making a smarter decision than 1962.

You do realize that Nuclear option is the last resort and even if you do attack, and only 1 or 2 nukes are exchanged, what action will world take against you. Imagine of sanctions and economic blow back.

They may take away your nukes after that and no one will support you as you don't have No First Use policy.

So a nation will think many times for resorting to nukes and rather ask third party involvement for ceasefire.
