Yes, as I mentioned in my post above, it was short lived. However I don't consider it as a mean achievement as Sikhism as a religion came into existence in the 16th century and they attained power just about 2 centuries later. If they had been more ambitious, organized and united, they could have easily captured Delhi. They were already controlling most of the Satluj-Yamuna Doab. They could have easily filled the gap created by the withdrawal of Abdali to Afghanistan and the defeat of the Marathas at Panipat in 1756. The Mughal power in Delhi was the weakest at that time.
It would be great if you could post some references for what you have mentioned above. Just replace the Sikhs with Muslims and you will get what I heard from my elders and saw in Sikh museums and paintings in Gurdwaras. In fact the Golden temple has an entire section of its museum dedicated to Mughal atrocities against Sikhs. Sikhs had two of their Gurus tortured and killed by the Mughals. And just compare 300 years of Muslim Mughal rule with 60 years of Sikh rule and you will get an idea.
But I dont want to dwell on the past. Whats been done is done. Muslims are although a very small minority in East Punjab they live happily with their Sikh and Hindu neighbors.
What garbage, I'm guessing you are a Sikh. They could never have reached Delhi, the only reason why they got some land was because of the ongoing conflict between the Mughals, Afghans and Persians which had weakened all of these sides... This is the only reason why the Sikhs managed to take over some land for a few decades.
And the Sikhs originated as people who stole from rich Muslim caravans, the Mughals whose tolerance gave all religions freedom, acted in response to the thieves and tried to stop them. Sikhs on the other hand did nothing but persecute, kill, and oppress those who stood against them. The Mughals also tried to stop the Sikhs from enforcing their beliefs on so called low-class Hindu minorities of the region. The Sikh era of Punjab was the darkest period in Punjab's history... This is the sad reality that you Sikhs have to face. But through lies you try and distort history, which is tragic. The 40 years of a short-lived small Sikh state means very little in world history, especially in comparison to the 1300-1400 year history of Muslims in the subcontinent!
