You are correct on most accounts, however, I would slightly differ on the view that the PAF abilities should not have been shown. The nature of wars have changed. Previously, the airforce was there to support the Army and the navy and other objectives. But now it is the OTHER way around.

The Air force in the new doctrine is the PIVOT power, and other branches of military will work with it. And that is why you have JF-17 project and also Project AZM.

Also, the the fake surgical strikes drama by India HAD DEEP GEOPOLITICAL AND STRATEGICAL reasons. There are big powers behind it. If on that day, PAF would not have responded and there was no message given to india, the situation for Pakistan would have become very nasty and very uncontrolled on ALL BORDERS very quickly. Now, countries like Iran and A-stan and others know their place, and they have gone back in the little boxes where they belong, and Pakistan is left to deal with India, which they have and continue to do.

Here is what I think---. I think that the capabilities fo the JF17 strike package have shook up the powers to be---.

No one ever anticipated the SU30's and the M2K's would be taken out just like that---.

You have to understand this---this is the first major air combat of similar capability air forces with 4th gen aircraft and EW capabilities---the much touted french and israeli packages were there or around---.

So---for the west---now is the moment to contain pakistan.

For that very reason---I am a firm believer tat those abilities should not have been shown just like that---.

The first night---the incoming aircraft should have been allowed to come in further and then intercepted SA missiles and aircraft---.

This was a right in your face challenge by the Paf and smacked the enemy hard and their well wishers as well---.

So---now they are all planning how to make the indian air force look good---.

So---yes at e convenient moment---serious stuff will happen---.

Think further West. Perhaps they are not too happy about Indians claims related to some of their top weaponry. Perhaps they want India to be embarassed for ignoring their offers. Perhaps they feel that such embarrassment will make India realise that the only way to take on Pakistan is to buy from them.

Then think of those slightly up north. Perhaps they want real time experience and testing, and perhaps theres more lined up to be tested.

2. china front, would want PM to approve the credit line for acquiring more weapons
