that's because land is expensive to build in bangalore, and the whole thing will be not so value for money. don't worry about the support base absent in bangalore. it's actually quite a common phenomenon, more bangalore becomes cosmopolitan, more religious the staunchly religious becomes as a response. not surprising..not the first or last time. what I'm trying to say is, now, there is a big, very big community linkup thing and "us and them" going on...
don't think there aren't "social clubs" and associations for lingayats and vokkaligas, heck even the new colleges in bangalore get termed as lingayat college, vokkaliga college..and many religious parents of the kids make that decision based on who runs that college.
just leave bangalore, 70 kms, the fun starts.
