What's new

All South Indians are not Madrasi

No .Chennai
Bangalore is more developed and cosmopolitan than Madras. But its not a typical south Indian anymore...Today Bangalore looks more like a NI city than SI..Hindi Hindi every where,Kannada Kannada nowhere..

ammaaa !!! bangalore is south indian proper. even if the saambar can't hold candles to even up north in andhra forget chennai. and don't get me started on that sh!tty palya you get everywhere in dakshin kannada..stuff worth committing suicide over.
Dakshin Kannada is Mangalore,not Bangalore...

So that might be an internal migration for jobs.

Bangalore is cosmopolitan but it still gives a sense of being Kannada.

. . .
madras is the most famous city in southern india.. probably that's why people think anyone who speak southern language live in madras

 More like some N.Indians didn't know anything more than Madras.

banglore is in middle.. not really south india in a way.

:lol: Look at a map. Bangalore is actually slightly more south than Madras (Chennai).

kannada nowhere ?

you sure you're talking about the same bangalore ?

dakshin kannada starts from bangalore, with its ironclad caste system and mutts which are basically political centres of power.

What?? Dakshin Kannada is Mangalore & surroundings. Not Bangalore. You seem utterly confused. What major mutts in Bangalore? What ironclad caste system? Political power are in the Mutts of the Lingayats & the Vokkaligas. Neither of the two would count Bangalore as a major base.

that's because land is expensive to build in bangalore, and the whole thing will be not so value for money. don't worry about the support base absent in bangalore. it's actually quite a common phenomenon, more bangalore becomes cosmopolitan, more religious the staunchly religious becomes as a response. not surprising..not the first or last time. what I'm trying to say is, now, there is a big, very big community linkup thing and "us and them" going on...

don't think there aren't "social clubs" and associations for lingayats and vokkaligas, heck even the new colleges in bangalore get termed as lingayat college, vokkaliga college..and many religious parents of the kids make that decision based on who runs that college.

just leave bangalore, 70 kms, the fun starts.

You are missing the point. It's expensive now. There are all sort of associations. Any place with a million Bengalis & a million Malyalis along with countless million Tamils & Telugu speakers who have resided for generations and a huge population of N.indians will have all sorts of groups. 70 km from anywhere is a whole new world. Nothing exceptional about Bangalore.

the difference being, these are caste based groups who openly play caste politics in bangalore, you should see how the boards of certain areas have the seer blessing you from background, these are not "ethnic" groups" found on commonality of being in a foreign land. these are local groups based on not hinduism, but power held by a certain caste. it doen't help bangalore at all. you will never see politicians visiting a bengali association or mallu association. the votebank and appeasement of caste association doesn't really have anything to do with a group coming together for a reason.

these groups promote stuff like lower caste, untouchability, not letting them enter the house, not eating food from a non "same caste' eatery.

btw, whats your stand on the palya ? looks like shit, tastes tasteless and sandy, and devoid of oil or masalas..

Dakshina Kannada is Mangalore region,Google..
Yes,sadly,Kannada language is dwindling in Bangalore..Mostly due to large scale migration and Moreover, many of whom don't like to learn Kannada..
Ironclad caste??..I have many vokkaliga and lingayath friends..haven't felt any rivalry or so called caste distinction among them..
Bangalore is more of cosmopolitan nature..Vokkaliga groups are mainly around neighboring mandya, mysore, tumkur, chamrajnagara etc etc districts..
Vokkaligas are mainly in North Karnataka regions..

dude, you are not getting the point. i'm talking about those who will not make "friends" with you. your logic is self defeating. how many lingayat friends do you have ? what does that prove anyway ?

kannada is not dwindling anywhere, it's fear mongering. plain lie. plain plain lie and a popular fear mongering tool. if a kannadiga expects me to convert to kannadaa and sh!tty palya and spit loudly while you talk, maybe take up a mutt seer as the guiding light of my this mortal life and leave being an educated bong, fat fat chance !

the expectation itself is wrong, hence they get butthurt, inc. the cops.

RIP Geography. :lol::lol:

do look at my points.. :-)
