What's new

All Man U fans!!!

Yeah Alves, top drawer player, meaning that robben would be gone meaning Real have got themselves an amazing winger.

Luv to see Robben in whites.

I can see the lampard at Barca and deco at Chelsea but not after this transfer window, maybe next summer would be more likely. I'm definately expecting Robben to be on the move and tevez aswell.

It wud be good for football.

Oh and Bull don't hold your breath on KAKAChrome

We can buy anything and anybody u see. We are just too rich. Kaka can easily be in RM if Ronaldinho moves to ACM.

Tevez cleared to sign for Man Utd

Tevez (right) could soon join Patrice Evra at Old Trafford
West Ham have revealed they have reached agreement for Carlos Tevez to leave Upton Park and complete his protracted move to Manchester United.
The settlement ends the threat of High Court action between West Ham and Tevez's representative Kia Joorabchian.

West Ham will receive a £2m fee for Tevez's registration and the move has been approved by the Premier League.

The 23-year-old Argentine striker is understood to have passed a medical and trained with United on Friday morning.

Report: BBC Radio Five Live's Nigel Adderley

All sides were keen for the matter to be settled ahead of a proposed court date on 22 August and the closure of the transfer window at the end of the month.

Tevez's switch had stalled over who will be paid the transfer fee.

The Premier League and West Ham said the Hammers should receive the fee but companies MSI and Just Sports Inc, which belong to Joorabchian, said they owned the striker's economic rights.

Tevez arrived with fellow countryman Javier Mascherano at West Ham last August, and his outstanding form towards the end of last season kept Alan Curbishley's side in the Premiership.

West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson says he's pleased the deal has been resolved through 'common sense', but that's been in pretty short supply during this sorry saga

BBC sports news correspondent James Munro

But there was always a shadow hanging over the deal after West Ham were fined £5.5m over the transfers of Tevez and Mascherano.

The club was found guilty of acting improperly and withholding vital documentation over the duo's ownership, but crucially avoided a points deduction.

West Ham said in a statement: "The settlement ends the current litigation taking place between the respective parties and provides for a £2m fee to be paid to West Ham.

"The agreement confirms that West Ham do have a valid player's contract with Carlos Tevez and hold the registration of the player. This will be released once the agreed fee has been paid to the club.

"The terms of the settlement are consistent with undertakings given by West Ham United to the Premier League and the rules of The Football Association."

West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson added: "I am obviously pleased that we have finally reached the end of this saga through agreement and common sense.

"All parties involved can now move on and truly focus on the new season."

The Premier League has also given their approval, clearing the way for Sir Alex Ferguson to complete the drawn-out Tevez deal.

A statement read: "The decision of the board, having received leading counsel's opinion, is that the agreement reached is compliant with the rules of the Premier League and consistent with the undertakings given by West Ham United to the Premier League board at various times since 27 April 2007.

Lessons won't be learnt - that's what makes the whole thing so tragic

Cold War Kid

"This will lead to the cancellation of Tevez's registration, thereby releasing him to join another club in due course."

And a statement issued on behalf of Joorabchian, MSI Group Limited and Just Sport Inc, said: "We are delighted that a settlement has been reached between all parties to secure Carlos Tevez's move from West Ham United to Manchester United.

"The agreement brings an end to the legal proceedings started by us against West Ham United in the High Court last week.

"Our primary concern has always been to resolve this issue amicably and to allow Carlos to pursue his ambition to play for Manchester United.

"Carlos is looking forward to being a Manchester United player and his ambition is close to being achieved."

Newcastle seal £6m Smith transfer

Smith is seeking a fresh start at Newcastle United
Newcastle United have completed a £6m deal to sign Manchester United's England striker Alan Smith.
Smith, 26, has agreed a five-year contract and trained with his new team-mates on Friday.

Newcastle fought off competition from several clubs to sign Smith, who had been told he would not be offered a new deal at Old Trafford.

Boss Sam Allardyce is now reported to be pondering a last-ditch bid to sign Wigan defender Leighton Baines.

Interview: Newcastle United striker Alan Smith

Smith said after signing: "The biggest thing for me is to get back playing regularly and to come to a place like this and to play football.

"Everyone already knows about how passionate Newcastle is, what their fans want to see, and how much they want success.

"It's nice to come to a place where a manager is trying to build a team and build a squad to develop and push on further and he wanted me to be part of that. When someone says that to you its always nice."

Out-of-contract Lyon captain Cacapa, 31, has also had a medical at Newcastle.

The Brazilian central defender, who skippered the French champions in each of their last five title-winning seasons, has also discussed personal terms with the club.

"He is a top player and we will be delighted if we can pull this off as we regard him as a big capture," Allardyce told the Newcastle Chronicle.

"Our fans should not be put off by the fact they may not have heard of Cacapa because he has certainly been heard of in Brazil and France."

Is Alan Smith a good signing for Newcastle?

Smith could make his Newcastle debut alongside former Leeds team-mate Mark Viduka in a pre-season friendly against Sampdoria on Sunday.

Allardyce had already added Viduka, Joey Barton, David Rozehnal and Geremi to the squad since arriving at the club.

But with six players departing and Kieron Dyer also set to leave, Allardyce has been frustrated over the lack of new faces.

Smith battled back from a broken leg to play last season but the offer of a new deal at Old Trafford did not materialise.

The striker was signed from Leeds for £7m three years ago.

Wow one cup after how much 4 years? wow that's getting cocky don't you think?

A cup in 4 years is a lean period only for Real Madrid bcoz of the very high standrad they created. Otherwise for any top 3 in major leagues like that its not a bad season, considering we finished second is most of those 4 yrs.

Things are getting a bit worrying for Real as the targets Robben, Ballack, Kaka all have reached nowwhere.

Well let we speak about it after the end of the season. In the meanwhile find a place to dig your face by the end of the season.
