I think the problem is not in the point that Flankers and Mirage 2000 can take on F16.
Its actually the other way around behavior from some Indians that cause some Pakistanis to adopt similar behavior. That "F16 don't stand a chance against Flankers and 2000" When some people from across the border rant this narrative, Some people from this side counter it by saying "Flankers and Mirage 2000" Don't stand a chance against F16.
Anyways on Topic All 4th gen fighters across the globe are capable of taking on each other. Unless you have a toothless version of a good fighter like Mig29s of some African and Middle Eastern Countries or ill trained staff.

Yes, you are free to buy more F-16s as long as it's your money. You have 28 now, and 8+10 will get you to 46, a little more than what you had throughout the 80s and 90s.

But does it make sense for you to buy more F-16s in the same period you will be procuring JF-17B3s? I'm assuming the B3 will mop the floor with the ol' F-16s by then. Not to mention the continued threat of sanctions, which will only increase.

Do not confuse "you" as "me". It is the government's decision with PAF. 36 C/D aircraft in total as originally planned. But the Indian lobby will make noise over it. They made a lot of noise over 13 F-16A/Bs from Jordan when they were acquired.

They currently fly a total of 76 aircraft.

Good Indication the Indians will be getting the F-16IN (Block 70), for which the PAF is surely planning ahead.
The knows this plane in an out. The Block 70 is an upgraded Block 50/52, the aerodynamic profile with the conformal fuel tanks is the same.

The block 50/52 PAF F-16's will need an overhaul in about a decade or so. If relations with the US improve by then the PAF can approach the Turks for a MLU to the entire fleet, and look to match the features of the IAF F-16s

Either way, the PAF will find a way to counter this, it just has to be allowed to maintain Pilot readiness with enough flight hours and the latest training opportunities.

The PAF can also work with the UAE F-16 BLock 60's if it hasn't done so already to learns the electronic difference between it and the PAF platforms. By 2030-2035 PAF will find a window to the the F-16s upgraded and stretch out the service life to 2045-2050.

at that point or sooner, the PAF will phase in Turkish Stealth Fighters with European Sub-systems if needed, and have Chinese/Indigenous Stealth Fighters for the bulk of its force.

PAF needs to start replacing f-16 from 2028. Some of the f-16 Paf has been flying for over 45 years. United states, pakistan and israel started using f-16s at the same time. They plan to replace them at the same time as well which is 2028. India can start making them in 2025 And fly them for 45 years till 2070. We should have no problems with that. Hey may be they can put these made in india wings on their tejas to make it Airworthy asap?
