FO submits Kharotabad report to NA body

Foreign Office on Wednesday submitted report to National Assembly committee on Kharotabad incident.

The report says all deceased person were innocent. The deceased Russian men and women had no link with any terrorist outfit and had no criminal record, report added.

The deceased persons were not involved in any terrorist activity either in Pakistan or in their homeland, it said.

The report also said that Russian government confirmed issuing passports to its citizens for travel to Pakistan.

Police and Frontier Corps personnel shot and killed 4 Russian and one Tajik citizen on May 20.

Initially police and FC claimed that persistently only identified the five as Chechens, indicated that they were suicide bombers that were in possession of grenades and explosives and that they had hurled grenades at police checkpoint.

Later, Inquiry Commission headed by a judge of Balochistan High Court reported that deceased foreigners were not terrorist and commission also suggested punishments for security personnel involved in that incident.


now it would be interesting to see if these uniformed murderers are punished to death or life imprisonment least what they deserve.....

yes it is one of the worse events of our age, nothing compares to unprofessional SOP and command on the ground than this...yet many were defending this heinous crime... they believe that defending all that military do, is justified, as its part of what they say "patriotism to Pakistan", while I have learned that patriotism is when you want your country, its institutions, its system, its people achieve excellence... and the path to excellence starts by criticising the wrong doings/identifying problems.

I remember, everyone was blaming the victims. You all were saying that the police had found "pictures of them holding AK-47's" in their hard disk. I asked this forum how the police could have known about the hard disks before shooting them, I mean, did they have Superman X-ray vision or something?.

If this had happened in Palestine, O my God, all Pakistanis would have gotten mad. But after this incident the majority were fully supporting their soldiers. I believe this offers an interesting insight as to the psychology of people when their soldiers kill "outsiders".

It wasn't clear at the beginning, in the news every channel was showing that they killed some terrorist, so what do you aspect from people go there by them self and look for clues of course they will believe what they see on TV later when they saw other videos they started to criticize...
The problem with Pakistan is you will never get 1 version of any incident, first they are terrorist then they are innocent then we see some videos and pictures of them in Waziristan so what's the truth you believe in one i believe in another.
Don't judge us so quickly face some target killers & suicide bombers' for a few months and then i will see what you say about it

well, bad to hear, that they were innocent. Should be tried properly the shooters, and punished as well.

I have heard on TV that police misguided the soldiers by saying these people are terrorists and they have a bomb when soldiers heard that, they immediately opened fire. keep in mind there is a high threat of BLA there, so soldiers don't gave time to anyone they immediately respond. I blame all this incident on our corrupt police.
