The incredible story of Alexander the Great and his conquest of the known world is brought to life with animated maps, images from Osprey Publishing and Total War game footage.
Follow the incredible story of the Macedonian king as he embarks on the total conquest of the ancient world's greatest superpower, the Persian Empire. With dramatic victories at the Granicus, Issus and Gaugamela, Alexander defeats Darius III and claims the throne of Persia. But his campaign to subdue the empire's easternmost provinces and reach the edge of the known world will take him into modern Afghanistan, Pakistan and the frontier of India, where he meets the king Porus in battle at the Hydaspes. This is the complete overview of Alexander's conquests, a 10 year period of immense drama and historical significance, as the young Macedonian king's breathtaking achievements ushered in a new era in European and Middle Eastern history - the Hellenistic Age.

Alexander was a straight up G along with Cyrus and Sargon.

I wonder what could've been of Alexander if he wasn't born with a silver spoon in mouth and didn't inherited an army built to perfection by his father Philip II.

Like my father said one time...
" A great man will always be a Great man...it's just a matter of perception"

Hannibal most likely was a greater commander than Alexander, on the tactical level at least. Faced an extremely tough opponent in Rome, nothing like Alexander faced in his entire career. Personally I'd rate Scipio higher too for sheer smartness, but that's me.

Be in your limits.
You be in your limits by not bloody giving away our heritage to our arch enemy India. That amounts to gross insult to Pakistan and this in a Pakistani forum. Just for education India did not exist 2,000 years ago unless you have been reading too many Hindutwa history books.

And mistake. Do you have no control on your keyboard??

SCipio IS Scipio..because I let him live, when I crushed his legion near Rome... He learned from me... and it's a treator... at least he got what he deserved... He got put down; humiliated ;exiled and died like a noman by his Masters... Karma is a b*tch

Scipio wasn't a good tactician neither a good commander... he was a good gambler... he gambled that I will go back to Carthage if he attacks it behind my back... while the center of Power of Rome didn't believed it... And yes I went back..; My only Mistake... I was few dozens of KM from the Capital of Rome... I should have done it... I didn't...

That's why Scipio is not recognized in History... He was an optimist opportunist among lost Pessimist...

So My lessons for future generation is... "No sentiment should exist in front of Victory" and " Victory without sacrifice...do not Exist"

Sir Basel Liddell Hart's entire treatise on The strategy of Indirect Approach is based on Scipio exploits. Scipio's awareness in a theater of war most certainly surpassed that of Hannibal, even if he wasn't as good of a tactician as the latter. He was more of an operational strategist.

He could have still been a skillful general, but perhaps not undefeated nor the leader of such a vast empire.

Boo Hoo. He said Porus was from Hindustan. Stop being so insecure, just because someone says something, doesn't make it so.

Pakistan didn't exist before 1947 either, so if you want to get technical, Porus was a king from Hydaspes, not Pakistan or Hindustan.

Brother very old post. Dex handled it splendidly.
Calm down. @dexter is one of the most consistent posters on the forum and what he copied the text from the video's description. Enjoy the video and asking nicely to correct one's mistake is much better.
