I'd trust the Hindu more than other DDMs. This shows the standard of journalism in this country.

So what's the big deal? It was a 'test' for God's sake. Failures are bound to occur and that's why the need to test all systems to overcome glitches before operationalizing a weapon system.

Dude, it's already operational & inducted. This is a user trial test to instill confidence among the IA and IAF. So much for instilling trust.

If it can't a mach 0.65 target pulling less than 3Gs, good luck hitting a fighter pulling 9Gs.

Akash is old generation SAM with a lot of problems IA and IAF have no other choice to accept it because its so called indigenous.

LCA is flying from 2001 but IAF did not compromise infact they kept increasing their expectation from LCA......LCA is still dying to get inducted even it has out performed your JF16.....

The case is other way around. We have been succesful a 100 times and failed at the 101th test.

P.s: when we run out of rubber wires,we shall import some from china at 'discounted' prices or produce one in joint-venture(joint rubber-17) or get some from USA as aid.

Mig 21s,jaguars and mirages full filled IAFs tests during their time of inductions and they got inducted. When LCA fulfills the parameters set by IAF for the current era,they will get inducted!

Actually the towed targets have huge RCS and big distance separating them, so that the missile doesn't hit the Lakshya by mistake. It's a standard practice to employ huge RCS targets as decoys.

Akash looks a old generation technology to you? Just because it is Indian? A fully automated, software intensive, network centric, multi mode SAM with advanced ECCM is an 'old generation' SAM. lol

Akash role is limited to Anti Aircraft? or Anti Missile Mode is also included in it?

Akash was developed as integrated area defence system against cruise missiles, UAVs, choppers and fighter aircrafts.
