both were high profile but still treated badly by hindu regime, there news made to press but poor ladies of Ahmedia tribe are being punished for last 10 years, took so long to come to press is understandable.

However, Pakistan is free from such discrimination.... and the welcome of Sania Mirza was one such example!

Does Sania mirza have (or has she even applied for) Pakistani citizenship ? Has she established residence in Pakistan yet ?

I don't believe that is true. Abassis and Alavis in Kakori if not supporting independence support Congress. Barabanki my mothers side is the place of Ansaris. There too I have never heard of a shia voting in BJP. BJP is an anti muslim party according to many because it has been implicated in the Gujarat genocide.

Personally I don't believe in any party except independence or merger with Pakistan, merger with Pakistan being more favorable. Why well congress did the same thing to sikhs. Tytler is still roaming freely. So basically each indian party during its tenure has harmed minorities, true congress didn't harm us but since it did that to the Sikhs it is equally capable of doing it to muslims.

I think muslims cant live with one another. sunnis kill shias (today) and ahmadis (everyday) in Pakistan. I think Pak should split up into their provinces as soverigns

No need, These Ahmadis were the ones who joined hands with Muslim League and took part in "Direct Action Day"Which killed many Hindus.
Why do we need to give them asylum?when they fought against us to form Pakistan.

Getting Indian citizenship takes very long time.Even a Nepali Hindu married to an Indian doesn't qualify for citizenship.

In a letter to Indian premier Narendra Modi, a member of the Ahmadi community in India has urged him to grant citizenship to Pakistani women who are married to Indians and have been living in the country since decades.

Accusing the Modi-led government of religious discrimination, the media in-charge of the Ahmadi Muslim Jamaat in India, Chaudhary Maqbool Ahmad, said, “Our prime minister talks of women empowerment but these women who have been married in India for past 10 to 35 years even can’t call themselves Indians, leave alone go out of Qadian.”

Qadian, north-east of Amritsar, is the Ahmadi headquarters in India.

Speaking to the Times of India, Maqbool said the external affair ministry’s website is proof that only a handful of Muslims are granted Indian citizenship.

“At least nine Pakistani brides in Qadian alone were awaiting Indian citizenship,” he added.

Maqbool himself married a resident of Faislabad, Tahira, in 2003.

“Isn’t this discrimination against women?” Tahira, who is yet to receive Indian citizenship, questioned.

Holding bureaucracy responsible for their plight, she said they were made to run between pillar to post even afer having fulfilled all the formalities required for acquiring Indian citizenship.

Another resident of Qadian, Mehmood Ahmad Nasir, who married a woman from Hafizabad 18 years ago, said, “I am a father of three, yet my wife doesn’t have Indian citizenship.”

“I hope after [US President Barack] Obama’s public advice to India on religious discrimination , the bureaucracy will get out of its slumber and pursue our case immediately,” said Nasir’s wife Mubina.

Further, she said not allowing them to leave Qadian is also a violation of their basic human rights.

Tahira added when her mother was admitted in a hospital in Amritsar, she couldn’t go there to inquire after her health.

“When we can’t cross the borders of Qadian; we all feel very discriminated, it should come to an end now,” she asserted.

It looks like same old days of 1960s and 70s . It's matter of internal security. Already lots of refugees tibetian / Pakistanis hindus and intrusion from indo Bangladesh borders . At some point it needs to be stopped.

Muslim population in these regions hovers around 20% with 30% in Lucknow. So most of the votes for BJP are from Hindus. There is too much stigma attached with the BJP actually so we don't vote for them. They and 'Modi are seen as responsible for the Gujarat genocide.

The good thing about muslims is we favour laws otherwise India would have been broken into a half once again. My mammoo who stayed on in Lucknow when I asked him about Modi's victory he said Modi is an elected representative of the Indian people and the courts found nothing against him. I pressed him further but he respected hindus actually which is actually an Ansari trait. Being half ansari do note no one will defend hindus more than us.

Anyway about Shias I think this is all incorrect information. In Kakori shias are the majority and rarely vote for BJP. Even patriotic Indian Muslims who refuse to acknowledge Pakistan's shared history of muslims will give the same opinion.
