Fact is they are still far more militarily powerful than China and will stay this way for maybe 2 more decades.

Blaming one country for problems around the world is wrong/twisted perspective. Multiple countries have the unfortunate habit of meddling in the affairs of other countries.

Terrorism is a global problem and challenge. Every country bear responsibility in addressing this menace.

Some countries have authoritarian leadership who do not care about the well-being of the masses whom each claim to represent. Syria is one example where this dynamic led to a major tragedy in recent times.

Americans can be cruel at times no doubt. Vietnam and its neighbors (Cambodia; Laos) suffered much back in the days of Cold War. Iraq suffered much in modern times although its crooked Saddam regime is equally responsible.
