No need to blame Iran for this. They have the right to put their national interests first and Chabahar is no threat to Pakistan.
But we must not give it to India on a platter; Southern Afghanistan is controlled by Taliban and we must persuade them to sabotage some of the costly shipments or atleast let them pay heavy tax

Actually its great. Being intermediate country brings benefits. Not to mention being an oil rich intermediate country.

What Iran needed was to conduct nuclear tests back in 2008. Cut once cut deep. Once you have the weapon tech, you can then sign all the agreements etc for optics and still keep the weapons. Subsequent governments in US would have relented one way or the other. It would have become Iran's very own 'Samson' option.

You could have then focused purely on economic development.
