Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Kashmir: A Grand Bargain?

he he... hatred run in your veins.. first go and check what i wrote. I mentioned that at least we Indians vote for development. Atleast our political leaders ask for vote in the name of development. I never said that we are the most developed country in the world or we are the most affluent people. A large part of our population is as a poor as any other south-asian country. But atleast atleast atleast we think about development. We dont think about pakistan or kashmir or islam all the day like you people do. We have thousands of better things to look to and better work to do. Religion is not our priority as we are a secular country and we have been a single entity for the last 64 years. And we will remain as one in the name of INDIA not in the name of ISLAM.
indians are truly something. the other day there was a article on yahoo by an indian writer urging americans to donate their pocket change to india. Explained that even though it's an up and coming economy a large population of the country is impoverished and deviod of the most basic human necessaties. That is one face indains present to the west and gulf states to rack in dough and investments. The other face is presented on Pakistani websites where India is the most affluent nation on earth, people are swiming in milk and living a lavish lifestyle. wah reh.

Having read and understood all I just cant understand one thing here ...why no body mentioned that 1948 UN resolution on Kashmir which waas unanimously adopted by all of the members countries then...How can any one in his right mind assume that Kashmir is a lost cause for Pak when in reality still there is 7 lac indiain army in that little place with a population of 6 million only means one armed soldier for every 9 innocent civilians excluding women and children the ration comes to one soldier to 3-4 adult men ...what kind of democracy is that LET THEM DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES ...follow the UN resolution beside that we have no issue with india they are humans like us who likes to be happy n satisfied among their families...As for as A'stan is concerned let people say whatever thay want to but let me remind you to thats a land that has never been occupied by anyone in history and with the required help pf pakistan and its people all the Yanks and Hindus will be thrown off with bleeding a***s sooon....and future is all of pakistan let us just get rid of corrupt politicians ....There is no other country in the world with such potential and great strategic location...If we together with Iran close the hormuz strait alone all the US ,EU and Indian industry will be closed coz of no fuel or we can just impose tax on every crude carrier as that area comes within our range of international waters according to international laws....ALL WE NEED IS UNITY AND THE REALIZATION OF OUR STRENGTH....

We will see what the future holds. I wouldn't be so smug if I was you, India will have so many internal problems that it will go into civil war. Pakistan may not need to do anything. One's dream is anothers nightmare.

I know you won't be counted on as your sitting in Wales, I don't think you're qualified to speak on behalf of the people of Afghanistan. We call people like you traitors.

before commenting on others y dont u look at urself ????? wats the purpose of the brit flag if u r residing in pakistan ???? or are u a brit permanently shifted his base to pakistan ????? ........remember glass house :blah:

Pakistani politician have always succeeded in fooling the pakistani people on the name of Kashmir. They dint give them food, electricity, healthcare, schools. They have only given them an off-topic in the name of Kashmir. We are at least 1000 times better than them. Atleast our politicians fight their elections in the name of development. Atleast we vote for the development. Thank God, India is a Secular State. I would have been an ashamed Muslim had i been born in Pakistan. Thank God.

You don't need to generalize and disrespect tens of millions of people in order to prove your patriotism.

And you indeed sound brainwashed!

I just came back from a short (16-day) visit from Karachi. I will try to write more about the trip here and there. But I will briefly disabuse you and others of some media-created falsehoods. It will help all to understand human motivations--which are indeed UNIVERSAL. And these motivations are all rooted in daily life. Anyway, I found Karachi in both fear of the violence (Muharram was around then as well as the cell phone grabbers) but I did not find over-religiosity: Calls for prayers were heard all around while people in huge numbers going about trying to eke out a living. Much anger at the govt. for the 'corruption' and for the inflation. Not a lot of talk of 'Islam' to be heard. And most people I spoken with are looking forward to have Imran Khan--to better their lives. Not for Islam. Not for some so-called 'ghairat' emotions.

I will be back to this topic soon...

Kashmir is only affected by some insurgency mischievously supported by x intelligence agency it has nothing to do with other issues. The support stops insurgency too. It is an illusion of people who cannot see Kashmir peacefully developing under democracy. The false Muslim Brotherhood is exposed in Afghanistan, Balochistan and Bangladesh.

yeah before writing that let me mention you our government's stand. It is clearly known that any talks on Kashmir will only proceed once mischievous acts of insurgency and infiltration stops from your side. You are Not ready to do that we are not ready to move forward.
Thanks to your strategic location and also its sad to say that when American bombs fall they fall within your territory in retaliation you show some guts and prevents NATO supply which makes uncle SAM aggressive. USA just need Indian support to neutralize advantage of your strategic position. You should thank us rather that, we are not supporting americans in that.

Lets face it KASHMIR is a low key issue at a international issue.

THERE are so many other issues disputes so much higher on the agenda ie WOT AFGHANISTAN LIBYA IRAQ etc etc etc.

Pakistan as so many internal issues nobody mentions kashmir even in that country.

its got very quiet on this front.

with each passing year india grows so strong to the point nobody will cornor india over this for fear of losing trade.

If we drill this into our heads that neither India nor Pakistan can realistic grab the whole Kashmir without destroying much of each other then the logical conclusion would be accept the status quo. Pakistan may have had its best chance in 1962, India in 1971. Even those were remote chances. But they are gone. Long gone. Now there are nukes on both sides.
We--especially we Pakistanis--need to realize that President Musharraf had essentially accepted the status quo by ordering to shut down the artillery cover somewhere in 2004. Kayani has not deviated from that either.
