Afghanistan- Flexibility, Redundancy Built into its Afghan Supply Lines: US

Date

(MENAFN - Daily Outlook Afghanistan) WASHINGTON - The United States has built flexibility and redundancy into its Afghan supply lines to avoid overreliance on any single option, the Pentagon said.
The announcement came amidst increased US-Pak tension given that in the past Islamabad had been quick to suspend the ground lines of communications (GLOC) in such circumstances.
'The US favors supply routes via Pakistan because of cost, but we have built flexibility and redundancy into our supply lines into and out of Afghanistan to avoid overreliance on any single option, the Department of Defense spokesman said.
Lt Col Mike Andrews said this when asked Pajhwok Afghan News if the United States could sustain itself in Afghanistan if GLOC was closed by Pakistan once again.
Due to operational security, the Pentagon did not provide a specific percentage of US supplies going into Afghanistan through multiple routes.
Currently, there are about 14,000 US forces in Afghanistan. As such its supply needs are far less than when it once touched more than 100,000 troops during the Obama administration.
'Due to the lower level of US troops, supply needs are lower. I cannot state specific decreases, however, remarked the Pentagon spokesman.

LOL these Idiots don't have any other route. They only other way is to use Turkish Air space and that is not enough for heavy equipment.

LOL operational security. 82% of supplies are going through Pakistan.

Insult after insult. If Pakistan has dignity then it must close the supply route and withdraw from this war.

But will Turks and Azeris allow? Also, Isn't Caspian sea airspace controlled by Russia & Iran?

. .
We are already out of this war. This supply route gives leverage over USA and also intelligence of equipment being sent into Afghanistan. We don't want any surprises.

Does Pakistan check all material passing through its territory?

Turks are a NATO member country they cannot block it. But that route is very expensive. The Turk air route will cost like hell. It makes the logistical cost 40x. eg if 10 kg apple transported from ship costs $10. same 10 kg shiped via air shipment will cost $50

. .
Okkkk... that's very easy than .... please close all air and ground routes...

Let's see how long supplies last

My guess is US would fly across LOC through GB to Afghanistan.

Close the supply route please for god sake do it now.

US and India are coordinating these steps.

If Pakistan closes the GLOC and ALOC then US would declare J&K as part of India and start flying across LOC through GB to Afghanistan.

If Pakistan takes any action it would lead to war and end of CPEC.

This is the reason why Pakistan is not talking about closing the supply lines.
