'Afghan War Winnable Without Pakistan Help'

They clearly want to infiltrate militants and assassins from the Afghan side into Pakistan. Pakistan must do more to counter their efforts, and push the tide in the opposite direction.

Well thank God, now atleast stop blaming us for your own ills and do whatever you can and win this war, as you guys can do that on your own.

Enough with the baby crying that Pakistan is the factor due to which we can't win.

The US went to Afghanistan to eliminate the terror network and to help bring peace and stability. Afghanistan continues to strive towards prosperity and democracy with the help of the US and NATO forces. It is no secret that Afghanistan’s proximity to the Pakistan border offers Taliban the option to conduct illegal cross border operations. Our ultimate goal is an Afghanistan that can stand up and provide for its own security without foreign troops on its soil, and we are committed to achieving that goal. For us, the question of assigning blame is a moot point.
Let’s not forget that as with Afghanistan, the US and Pakistan are trying to achieve a common objective by fighting the same enemy. Have we not witnessed violent acts of terror in Pakistan. TTP and other terrorist organizations have been openly claiming responsibility for some of the most inhumane acts of violence. It is as if those they kill are human trophies. Do you not see that their mission to destabilize the nation of Pakistan?
The US considers Pakistan a key ally in the War on terror (WOT) and has committed to your great country billions of dollars in military aid over the next few years. The partnership between our two nations has led to success against the insurgency and new strategies are implemented to counterattack terrorism. To those who are interested in hearing only their own voices, should there be no discussions regarding counterinsurgency? Should the words of others be taken out of context whenever one speaks of information that indicates positive strides by allies towards accomplishing common objectives? Does not the strategic alliance between the US and Pakistan mean that the grip around the Taliban’s neck is tightening? Pakistan is an independent country and continues to make independent decisions which are, in turn, aided by its committed allies. Pakistan is also aware that home grown insurgency must be eliminated and that the ultimate goal for both our nations is to leave no room for terrorism and to eliminate any threat that continues to linger over both nations.

We're very lucky it's only 3 people. The way he was found, of all the places in mozang chungi lahore, i have a feeling there was definitely something more sinister he was planning that got thwarted. I would not be surprised if he was paying off some locals to carry out a large-scale attack in Lahore or some other Pakistani city. Reading Jeff Stein's article, I have no doubt he was a spy who was planning something more sinister inside Pakistan. A lot of Pakistanis don't go to Mozang Chungi, why would Raymond Davis, especially if he's a diplomat?

Okay, so it means that North Waziristan --which I've been led to believe is some magical city that has the KEY to NATO-controlled Afghanistan success ---no longer requires mil operation

if my memory serves me well, the mission (victory) revolved around capturing Bin Laden and dismantling Al Qaeda.
