Well all pakistani members have said that its virtually impossible to completly monitor and close down Pak- Afghan border. If thats the case, why is Afghanis so bothered about the fencing that they have started confronting it.

the afghans dont want it to become a border thus they will never support the building of the fence. the same thing with us and the LoC. plus the afhgans still think that NWFP is part of afghanistan they have never got over that ever.

we are simply fencing the areas that are easier to use for crossing.As most of the trade through those areas is an illegal trade that hurts our economy.

No doubt that they are currently in power, but they are hardly taking revenge. So far whatever they have attempted to do has been unsuccessful. The same Karzai was in Pakistan last year on the Pakistan Day with Shaukat Aziz and The President smiling & clapping while looking at the parade. I am guessing that something fishy happened between Karzai and GoP AFTER March 23, 2006.

North Alliance is now splintered some of them have been giving weapons to Taliban ,etc. Some have even gone out to side with Taliban and become commanders. But their are still some little rag-tag people, but majority arent.

Sooner of later US will kick Karzai out, because he is totally unable to serve economic interest of US. US oil exploring companies are waiting for long to build trans afganistan gasline to Pakistan seaport of gawadar. Eventually US will bring back taliban govt for peace in afganistan and cut security deal of gas line with Pashtun clan.
