ISLAMABAD: In yet another sign of improving ties between the two neighbors, the Afghan army chief will be attending the passing out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul as chief guest on Saturday.
Chief of General Staff Afghan National Army General Sher Mohammad Karimi arrived in Islamabad on Friday on a two-day visit to Pakistan.
He visited the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and held talks with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
During the meeting, matters related to peace and stability in the region, especially in Afghanistan, Pak-Afghan border management and measures to further enhance defence and training cooperation between armies of both the countries were discussed.
Earlier, on arrival at the General Headquarters, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented Guard of Honour to the dignitary. General Sher Mohammad Karimi also laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha for them.
