That's exactly what I told a sanctimonious Pakistani here who was acting cocky.
Cheers, Doc
You seem to be a knowledgeable Muslim. And I've increasingly been wondering about this question.
Why 4?
Why not 6 or 8 or 15?
The rationale for polygamy being to give the respectability and support of marriage to women when the population of men decreases calamitously due to war.
Then did your prophet give any explanation for why only 4?
@I.R.A
Cheers, Doc
You will still go with the popular belief, even if I explain it you in full. So I don't see it a productive activity. It will only attract fatwas.
I actually prefer your Zoroastrianism version to the desi fatwa version.
Now don't be pricey man. Do your duty as a good Muslim and educate an unbeliever who genuinely is seeking knowledge.
Cheers, Doc
Go to your nearest mosque and ask an alim instead of trolling on the net.
I actually prefer your Zoroastrianized version to the desi fatwa version.

We have a similar saying hereपति फ़ौज में पत्नी मौज मे - Pati Fauj Main Patni Mauj Main
Sometimes you can be this dumb, it's hard to believe ....... your Zoroastrian version is masked as desi fatwas. The similarities are between them ...... and not what Quran has to say.
Marriage is not about sex only in Islam. The intention to marry for having sex only is frowned upon and is forbidden in Quran. It's a contract between to knowing and willing people, who clearly understand their roles and duties as a husband and wife. Marriage is key to a healthy society building in Islam.
Coming to number of how many wives ....... Quran says 2,2 and 4,4 ....... whoever came up with round number of 4 must have had some logic, and I am not interested in it as I don't feel there is need for multiple marriages right now. And this polygamy, basically is not a blanket permission, rather an order a duty in times when its needed. It's not some privilege that can be exploited any time anyone wants.
A welfare society would care for its large number of widows and orphans. What an orphan needs? And what a widow would want most? So if a Muslim in such times is capable enough financially and physically .... he is to become that support for them.
P.S. Zoroastrianism is not remotely related to any of your fatwas. But unlike Muslims, we are not interested (or tasked) in explaining our faith or educating those not of the chosen bloodlines.
Please make it public someday. And then we will talk who is who and what is what.
There is a ton of stuff on the internet. By Indians. Iranis. Germans and Japanese (prolific knowledge both of these peoples have .... some of the best sources).
Ours is an extremely pure and very old Aryan monotheistic theology. There are not tons of rules and prescribed punishments and implied threats.
Ahura Mazda is benevolent. He is not a punisher. We love Him and believe in Him. No Zoroastrian has anything negative or close to resembling fear when it comes to his Almighty.
All He requires the Mazdayasni to live by on the true path of Asha, are Humata (Good Thoughts), Hukata (Good Words), and Hvrashta (Good Deeds).
Cheers, Doc
Good and bad cannot be described without attaching the consequences and rewards. No entity can be indifferent to justice and injustice. There has to be a mechanism, there has to be some order. And order prevails only when there is fear of punishment and incentive of being rewarded ...... that is logical.
Coming to "only" fearing Almighty ........ is a misconception and grave misunderstanding of the Almighty.
