PA can develop these locally and armed them with Mizrek-O (4000m range) & U (8000m range) along with Cirit LG 70mm (8000m range) rockets.

Mizrek-O:

Mizrek-U:

A local ATGM armed with 30mm APC was displayed at IDEAS 2018 it could be modified as per need.

Artillery is king. Best way to kill enemy armour. 155mm and 122mm guns are capable of using laser guided shells.

Using PGM with 300mm MBRL with other assets is also cost effective way against large armored formations.

Following could be very good package to add against Cold Start of India if it passes PA's requirements.

PA never post actual numbers. Plus, PA believe in quality not quantity. Even when they modified old Chinese tanks for anti terror drive, they used all German equipment to modify there tanks.

  1. we need 500 to 600 new Tanks (just say VT-4) to replace older Ts
  2. We need to speed up production speed of Al-Khalid tank and take the number too 700(minimum)
  3. We can upgrade T-80s and can start work on AL-Haider
  4. We have to retire all of our old junk and we have to keep AZ, T-85 in storage (First 3 points will give us 1600 tanks)
  5. Instead of using M-113 1500+ or so , start building IFV(like viper) and 8*8 AFVs
  6. we need better and advance Anti tank Units , retire all those jeeps and M-113 based units to counter cost .
  7. We have to upgrade Lahore and Gujranwala corps , we have to make them machined divs corps to counter Indian Cold or Hot attack.
We can not match India in numbers , and we don't need to match them 1:1 , but that does not mean we don't have to develop our conventional capabilities we must have to upgrade our defence forces and capabilities ..……..

The IA have 4500 3rd generation tanks to PA's 900 3rd generation tanks. There is a major mismatch in capabilities between the two. And almost all 4500 tanks will get major upgrades over the next few years, including an active protection system for half the tank fleet.

PA needs 1000 more modernised 3rd gen tanks or better over the next few years, at least before India starts receiving Armata or similar.

Pakistan's T-80 ud are being upgraded by Russia as reported by sputnik italia

The amount of Al-khalid that Pakistan posses has not been updated for a long time and constant production has been underway.

The new MBT which Pakistan is going to induct will only be known if induction comes from foreign country like Russia or Turkey. If Pakistan induct the new planned MBT from China you will never know because Norinco and HIT already had signed MOU long time back and joint production of new MBT will never make to head lines.

Last update on AL-khalid 2 was that it was being designed few years back. Then the update came of AL-khalid 2 production line being constructed. No news after that.

In armored vehicles Pakistan bought some from south Africa turkey and USA. They are in use with Pakistan
