Abdul Khaliq the flying bird of asia

. . .
In general Indians know how to give respect to someone's achievements better than Pakistanis. Look at cricketers, singers, actors, tennis players and basically anyone who has excelled in life. Even some Pakistanis get more respect in India than in Pakistan.
We in BD cannot agree to that statement after the shabby treatment Sahbegh Singh and Arora received in their country.

On Topic- if i m not wrong . . Abdul khaliq lost to Milkha Singh Twice ???:what::what::what:
any source of this claim?

Abdul khaliq has got better record than Milka singh and Khaliq was expert of 100 M while Malkha singh was trained as 200M/400m runner. Khaliq was at peak between 54 and 58 while Malka from 58 to 62 I think Khaliq lost to Malka singh once with narrow margin in local race of 200 m in 1960 .. ..look at his records

It was at this Tokyo Asiad that Milkha Singh made his first mark on the international scene. The Indian had won the 400 metres. Cometh 200 metres, both Khaliq and Milkha were hot contenders. A second gold medal for either would have also made the winner, the best athlete of the Asiad 1958. Khaliq had a splendid start and took the lead but the Sikh narrowly edged him out at the end.

In the movie “Bhag Milkha Bhag” much was made of his loss to Milkha in the 200 metres in the Indo-Pak athletics meet in 1960.

Flying bird, as opposed to a non flying bird, naam bhi diya to kaisa diya :sarcastic::sarcastic:

To e pedantic, there are flightless birds as well.

Well there are, but you wouldn't want to name your fastest runner after a flightless bird :sarcastic:

Although Ostrich is the fastest two legged creature on land. :rolleyes1:

Babloo they were boht 200m races where Milka had soem edge and that also at time when Khaliq was not at his peak..They were boht great athlete of south asia but if you compare their record side by side especially international records and golds and their personal best in Olympics then Khaliq has better records and wins. Did milka ever participated in 100 m race or ever competed with khaliq? Abdul Khaliq was most successful in 100 m race but he also participated in few 200m and 400 m races. even Milka Singh personal best in 200 m race in 1958 tokiyo Asian games was 21.6 s while abdul khaliq had finished 200 m race in 21.1s in 1956
