Abducted and forced into a Muslim marriage

.
was abducted from Karachi about 13 months ago by a group of young men who offered her ice-cream and a ride in their car. Before she knew what was happening, she was dragged into a larger van, and driven to an area she did not know.

You do not accept a ride from a stranger in Pakistan, especially if you are a girl. This is common sense. What was she thinking, that they would really take her out for ice cram and then drop her off to her house? Not in Pakistan, not even in United States.

.
Man!!! this is inhuman

This will continue till there are no Hindus left in Pakistan

She was not carrying a sign that she was Hindu.

Unfortunately this is common in our society. This could have also happened to a Muslim girl. In Pakistan, you don't accept rides from strangers.

:what:

She was taken violently (you even quoted this part). Then how did she accept a ride?:hitwall:

She was kidnapped for money. She was targeted so as to convert her.
Thanks for agreeing that it is common in your society. And it does not matter if she has accepted ride from a stranger, if she had not she would be taken forcefully.

But my concern why is their government outrage against this? Do gov wants all the hindus to become slowly extinct?

Stop blaming the victim yaar.

Sad ways of treating minorities and shamefully such incidents are on rise in Pakistan.. I feel for the poor people who have to face the atrocities and kidnapping for conversions.. I don't understand even if you increase your count this way. can you call it ethical? It is nothing other than an outcome of sick mentality, sick preachings and teachings.

Whenever this kind of atrocities comes up for the discussion, someone comes and says forced conversions are not accepted in Islam!!! this has become norm here. Who cares the forced conversions are valid or not. Show me one incident where forcefully converted people were allowed to revert back to their original religion!!!!! BS.

Exactly. And I think that's great since the next generation would be [culturally] Muslim, so there's a person (or more) gained not immediately but eventually!

All that's while assuming it is indeed a case of forced conversion, and not the usual girl eloping with Muslim boy and converting for nuptial union (maybe not for God, but nonetheless), and when confronted by parents through the police, saving her skin.

Indians please refrain from telling the Pak brothers that they have minority violation as we too have isolated incidents such as this.
if this incident is true, sure the law of the land will take its course to punish the guilty and we don;t have to the lecture them on how to run thier country,
when ever we do such lecturing it ends up in a troll feast.

The land has become purer of one extra soul.

There will be crimes in any society. But what I can't understand is that this girl has obviously been able to contact the media, and yet the authorities there have done nothing?

She was a Hindu...and this is Pakistan...thats why.

That's what I figured. While religious conversion might play a part in justifying it, the main motivation was no doubt to get a bride.

And certainly such bride kidnappings happen in India too (heck they happen all over the world in one form or another). But the fact that she's been able to communicate with outsiders (i.e. the IRIN reporters) about her situation but still hasn't been able to return to her family and her abductors aren't in jail means something is very seriously wrong.

I can't be certain that the police are looking the other way because she was a Hindu converted to Islam, but that seems to be the only plausible explanation.

We have plenty of injustices perpetrated against minorities, and I often speak up against them. But it doesn't appear that the law of the land is taking its course. And it's one thing if say a Hindu girl was raped and the police didn't catch the perpetrator. It's difficult to prove a one-off crime and catch the culprit. But it's another thing for a girl to be kidnapped and yet the authorities don't do anything about it. All they have to do is ask her if her marriage was forced and if she says yes then they can annul it and return her to her parents.

Edit: post split into separate thread.
