Aamir Khan's Dangal earns Rs 75 crore in China during opening weekend

Simply put, just like PDF's posting rules, think, and even "Resident Evil" and "Final Destination" can pass the reviewed.
Well, as for the other rules, wait till I become a director and tell you.
Well, it's somewhat clear.

China's film market is very competitive. You got their domestic market competing with Hollywood and other Non-Hollywood films. The domestic industry is favored by the government as local studios and co-productions get 44% of the revenue whereas foreign studios only get 25%. The government also has a quota for imported films to protect the local industry. Non-Hollywood films are rarely successful except for a few hits like Dangal, Your Name, PK and 3 Idiots compared to the countless successful Chinese and Hollywood films as shown by China's all time box office chart. Non-Hollywood films won't be making an impact at the Chinese box office as domestic and Hollywood productions are too dominant and capture a huge percentage of the market.

How could Non-Hollywood films do better? This is a difficult question to answer. In the North American box office, Hollywood films dominate with a 90% market share. Their dominance spreads to almost every foreign market. China will need to build more screens. The moviegoing audience will need to increase.

It's time for Indian movies start targetting story lines, back ground scenery to attract Chinese audience.May be some chinese location indian films with story line related an Indian guy falling love affair with a Chinese girl and after effects of their love affair in china and back at his home.Let me think about some good story

In fact one my friend in college married to a Chinese girl and living in china.
That is what Hollywood seems to have been doing lately, every big banner Hollywood movie has a Chinese element to get a pie of the Chinese film industry and its a win for the two both the parties make money in this deal, and thanks to quota system this wont have any impact on Chinese culture.

I think the important thing is that India movies haven't really come into Chinese eyes. For example, I only have a movie ticket. Do you suppose I would choose to see a India movie or a Hollywood movie?

China also need to protect their cultural industries, the introduction of foreign film quota itself is limited, for example, If only 100 quota, Chinese officials may put 99 give to their American Dad's movie, The last 1 give frenchman.

Amirkhan's success in China is not due to the appeal of the India film, but it belongs to Amirkhan's personal charm. If Dangal is starring another India actor, do you think it will be successful in China?

In short, Dangal's success in China was due to Amirkhan, not because it was a India movie.

What good movies are there in Asia?
Technology in Hollywood. And the story in asia. Specifically, China's Kung Fu, Japan's terror, Thailand's romance. And Amirkhan of India.

China has movies in this area, about exotic love stories, but mostly with Russian girls. India girls only appear in China's dating programs.

Bud, lets be real both of our countries sort of live in a parallel universe where people of these two countries know nothing about each other in general. I will buy what you say abt Indian movies , though its the same story on this side of the border aswell, we watch Jackie chan not because he is from Hong kong/china or because he is acting in a Chinese movie, we watch him simply cos he is Jackie chan. Feelings are mutual here and nationality has got nothing to do with it. And i belive this is how it should be.

Yah. Including me, he betrayed Katrina Kaif., a very bad man.
 Love life of celebrities are mostly tricky.

I'm talking about something else. He drink and drive then ran over a homeless person who was sleeping on the sidewalk. He then got away with it, because the witnesses was dead and he had a very good lawyer.

Kindly compare Indian Kamaati Pura income as well since Indian Govt earning enormous amount from there also.

Don't tag me next in D@ck measuring threads.

Indian Film Inspires Chinese Filmmakers to Look for Collaborations

Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s blockbuster film Dangal has impressed audiences at the second BRICS film festival in China’s Chengdu. Experts said Dangal's success indicated that more Chinese want to know the real India and the government should leverage it to showcase India's soft power.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — The film has already set new box office records at the Chinese box office. The assembled filmmakers and actors also brainstormed on ways to collaborate to anchor the soft power of the five-nation group.

“Dangal has inspired Chinese filmmakers. Its actors are now megastars in our country though there wasn’t a lot of promotion for it in China. I think Indian films really taught us a lesson this time. Chinese audiences are easily moved by such simple, straightforward and beautiful stories,” The Hindu quoted Lu Chuan, Chinese film director, as saying in Chengdu, which is hosting the second BRICS film festival. The first film festival of the five emerging economies was held in New Delhi last year.

Experts said Dangal’s success is also linked to China’s attempt to expand its global outreach and to understand India better.

“This is part of China going global. Also, Chinese TV channels are now covering and showing a variety of stuff now. In Dangal’s case, the fact that President Xi Jinping mentioned to PM Narendra Modi of having seen it, made it popular again among Chinese, who feel that it shows them the real India. The government should leverage it to the hilt as it constitutes a massive soft power India has,” Dr Swaran Singh, Professor at the School of International Studies at the New Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University and a noted expert in Chinese affairs, told Sputnik.

This year’s film festival also saw the contribution of short films from member countries. Five filmmakers, including India’s Madhur Bhandarkar, Jia Zhang-Ke from China and Jahmil T. Qubeka from South Africa, contributed short films to the 110-minute compilation.

The stories mostly focused on hope, the neglect of the elderly and the fear of the future. Bhandarkar’ film Mumbai Mist focused on the plight of the old, in Mumbai, India’s financial capital.

As part of identifying new talent and promoting capacity building in the BRICS in the area of cinema, a Chinese official announced that the Beijing Film Academy would offer 40 fully sponsored undergraduate and doctoral scholarships for budding filmmakers in the five emerging economies. An exchange program for promising students has also been envisaged.
