A US-Vietnam Alliance? Not So Fast

thats not so easy to happen believe me, US doesnt just sell warships easily,they like to give their aged ships with some money,or some agreements.
US knows its well, Vietnam's current government had tendency to Russia and to listen them, they wont give their missles that easily. Maybe just some basic weapons to show off " friendship"

we don't listen to them, bro. our relation is base on interests of both side. The cold war is finished and Russia is no more socialist country. When Putin is busy with Ucrein and NATO he can not focus more on Vietnam like in the past.

In fact we interest more on warships from Nierderland and France than from USA. It is reported that France General told to media Vietnam that France is ready to provide Vietnam army with weapon. It is business.

Russia isnt just busy with Ukraine and NATO , its about interest, Soviets and Russia are just the same to keep same interests , like even soviet falls, russia still have efficient politics on middle asia .
I believe vietnam can have self capability to built up warships, or doing co production with extended Tech transfer from korea, or another country.
the point i insist ,is Vietnam's profit with having ally from west. It shouldnt be just like vietnam is a customer of weapons.

One more note, France was whom, helped UK to take argentina down in falklands netherland is good option than US and france.

My problem isnt with Vietnam, or their people, or country. Just my problem is with bunch of people on the head of country. I dont mean to socialism to be replaced, i just hope those old minded people to leave dominating vietnam with their own interests.

Vinashin's ex manager , sentenced to jail one year ago with claims of corruption, but i am curious if VNmese people thought the reality? That man was trying to have some Co production and help from western countries in warship production, also insisting russia to give more ability to vietnam for expected Tarantul class production of VN navy.

So that man jailed, tarantul class production had just accepted by government , began to production with least possible tech transfer and without providing VN engineers and technicians with advanced abilities.

Pls look at the Spratly position on the map first. Its too far and take too long time for China jet fighter to fly from Hai Nan base to Spratly isl to intercept our Scud, and China now also can not send hundreds warships to Spratly and dock there 24/24 hours just waiting for intercepting our Scud.

N. Korea can make Scud missile by themselves and it has a new name: Nodong missile. They transfer Scud tech to VN,so our men can get training in N.K too.

Spratlys too close to Philippines bases.
If Philipines is a strong country, no one could steal their islands...

At the end, chinese also withdrew. The oil rig did not solve anything. Just 4 chinese workers (died) and their families who have to suffer the consequence.
