A string of Pearl <-- FALSE !

. . .
well i found the tone of post very aggressive (may be "violent" was incorrect choice of word). any ways it is up to individual perceptions i guess. u might not find anything wrong at all.

LOL, it's up to you. I didn't think so personally, but nevermind.

Nations will do whatever they think is in their best interests.

True enough. I have never been particularly worried about this "look East" issue.

Japan and South Korea already have a very strong supporter, the USA. India can never hope to replace the USA in this regard.

Also, Japan and South Korea are economically tied to China. Both of them have China as their largest trading partner.

For East Asia, the big players are the USA and China. India can try to get some influence in the region, but their influence will ultimately be limited.

Again u r imagining on the basis that India's relation with east asia is something about containing China,China may be the biggest trade partner of Japan and Korea but what matter's here is China is also the second biggest trade partner of India, even we r economically linked.

India have no aspiration to replace US in East Asia, have a look,r we involved in any kind of military activity there, its all about trade,we r building good relation's with Japan for their trade, for their technology, which will make Japan more beneficial for India than India for Japan, whenever India is mentioned somewere in east Asia,China starts needlessly suspect us.

No I'm not. As I said above, I have never been worried about it.

Anyway, China-India trade is quite small.

Nothing compared to China-Japan trade, China-South Korea trade, China-USA trade etc.

Even the trade between China and Hong Kong, is over $200 billion every year.

Small for u,but big for us,and still that trade with China is helping us many ways,u may be not consider that worthy, but we do,this is no longer the cold wr era, every economies r also tied by the trade.

Circled in yellow: Straits of Malacca

What happens when that route is blocked?

That's what I thought.

I don't understand this, when China raises concerns about US navy presence in East China sea, its a genuine concern, when India raises concern about increasing Chinese presence in its neighborhood its bs?

Well it is BS, and a completely different situation.

It's all about the perspective.

Obviously you're not going to agree, since you're looking at it from the Indian perspective.

Exactly my point, since its an Indian concern, no one else can see it from the Indian point of view, if India feels threatened then India feels threatened! Every country has the right to make its own judgement?

Unfortunately India-China relationship isn't strong enough for India to discredit its own reasoning and buy whatever argument China makes.

Who wants to replace USA..? We are just joining them...

Re East Asia : thats a way to look at it..My perspective could be different and not suitable for your line of thoughts..

Sure, but don't expect the Chinese and Pakistani members here to accept the Indian perspective.

No one did, its the Chinese in fact who are trying to prove that these ports are nothing but alternative supply/trade routes for China.

No country can take chances when it comes to defence and security. We can't just go around labeling others point of view as bs, when we aren't even ready to consider the others perspective.
