Guys ---- I just gave my GRE and scored 1450 in it.

I have a GPA of about 2.65 and I am interested in networks as a major.

Can anyone suggest some good college and what are the procedures ??

Yea - try the SUNY network and the UC Network.

give up on networking..its an over saturated market

I know Sweden has some excellent Universities in this field....Same about Finland...Swedish Universities offer courses in English...But not sure about Finland.

for Networks NCSU is good, ur GRE is good but acads are low, if you can somehow show acads to be a level up to 3.0 gpa then I think NCSU shd be good, then Univ of Delaware also has N/w courses, USC(I think u will get this one for sure but be ready to pay the fee)

@Kartic don't convert your % to GPA if possible, many mumbai univ with second division like 55%to 58% were able to get admin into Arizona State and USC.

For more education in US I would suggest joining Edulix

Karthic, how did you calculate your GPA....India doesn't follow US GPA System

Try Canada, U of T, Macmaster, Western, Ryerson or York will all accept you im sure. It will be cheaper for you anyways. Canadian education is recognized all over the world as well.

Acceptance in US univs is not based solely on your GRE (You've got a very good GRE score, btw) or Degree marks. Its the whole package that matters.

Make a strong statement of purpose (not your academic life story but why you are interested in the subject you want to pursue, and what contributions you can make). Talk to faculty about their specific research interests, read their papers and try to pitch ideas that you can contribute to their work. Very important.

Pick out 10 or so univs whose programs you like the most (you really need to research the department, their faculty, their research interests and areas etc)

Initiate contacts with the Profs and Chairs of those departments. Keep in touch with them atleast a few times a month inquiring about the program, their facilities, labs, working atmosphere, facilities for international students in their universities etc. KEEP IN TOUCH. The more they know your name, they will remember this when they go through applications and your application will stand out.

All this together make the whole package. Universities look at the whole package, not individual parameters. Through all this, be genuine. One can spot fake interests in a couple of conversations if not right away.

You got a lot of work cut out. Hope this helps and Best Luck!
