What's new

A short documentary on Rescue 1122

Great service. I had assumed such service existed everywhere in Pakistan, but am quite disappointed to find out that it's only in Punjab, and only recently. This is the need of the hour in Pakistan, currently.

Something of this sort is badly needed in Peshawar and the surrounding areas right now, and of course, as pointed out, in Karachi. Also, is there any joint training held with the Police and/or paramilitary forces? I realize that the requirements and roles are different, but both the police and the paramilitary should already have well-developed and tested emergency response systems.

Lastly, since it is a government service, it probably doesn't collect donations. Does/can Rescue 1122 also provide such high caliber training to similar services provided by NGOs such as Edhi Foundation? that way, we can be sure our donations are being used optimally.

Punjab Emergency Service (1122) actually pioneered mock emergency scenarios, every year countless are conducted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore. The service has soldiers on secondment from SSG to train rappelling and advanced rope rescue.

Special staff assigned to the (DERT: Disaster And Emergency Response Team) train at PTS Sihallah in Bomb Disposal and crime scene management.

Rescue 1122 has a response time better then any other civilian responding agency in Pakistan. Although Rescue 1122 does not accept donation it is always looking for volunteers for the rescue teams and sponsors for its public safety campaign.

Lastly Rescue 1122 provides training exceeding that compared to any NGO in Pakistan, they have a world class training academy in Lahore and have instructors certified from USAID and United Nations.

Training is provided in a multitute of disciplines including:
Fire Fighting
Hazmat (Hazardous Materials)
Emergency Medical Services (EMT and First Responder)
Basic Rescue
Advance Rescue
Mass Casualty Incident Management
Disaster Rescue
Urban Search and Rescue
Rope Rescue
Water Rescue
Vehicle Extraction
Protocol Support.

Rescue 1122 has excelled in training provision and last year trained staff and officers of Armed Forces institute of rehabilitation medicine.

In Rawalpindi for example Rescue 1122 ambulances support the Army's Elite 111 Brigade during protocol movements. This is the first time the army has partnered with a civilian organisation to directly support its operations.

In Lahore Rescue 1122 houses a world class Medium Urban Search and Rescue team that can deal with any man made or natural disaster such as building collapses, mass casualty, flooding, hurricanes, fires, terrorism etc...

I can go on and on, but if you would like to know more please visit: ::: Rescue1122 Official Website :::

All the best...
