The red labeld AC's are not to able to perform attack coz of their old frame, old technology and can be destroyed by missiles like ANZA.
So total 182 Aircrafts are fir to attack others will play defencive role.
I disagree..
The FL's are pretty much obsolescent..like our FT-6's..and that is what they are used for..
however..both the Mig-27 and jaguar are very effective at CAS and tactical strike...
The MF's and Bis are comparable to our F-7P's in the point defense role..the Bison however..is an effective embedded escort fighter..with its R-77's it is a real threat....
As far as the ANZA..its a MANPAD..with limited range and engagement parameters.. it is only just so effective..
Back in 99..the IAF was not aware of it..neither did its older aircraft have any countermeasures....which is why they were shot down..
In an all out scenario..these aircraft may employ different tactics..that will severely limit the effectiveness of manpads..at least reduce the chances of a successful hit.
