Thats exactly how Einstein got E=MC2, didnt he? Was he a monkey too? Nah, he was their descendant! And so are we all.E=MC2 is a different story. It's part of basic theoretical physics now, can be proved with vigorous math and observed by experiments (nuke is one of them).
But these freaks at CERN they don't even know what they are going to end up having. Their current dumb strategy is basically modelled from a monkey: poke it, and see what happens.

Oh yes, the nerds at CERN do know what they are talking about. Infact E-MC2 is actually not possible if we cannot get hold of this "God Particle" - the Higgs Boson particle.
All our present day physics and its laws governing nature rest on the theory that its this Higgs-Boson particle which is responsible for 'Mass' in an atom. Its existence has been proved without a doubt, but only in theories. And yet it eludes us in practice!
You see, this is a very interesting conundrum. The discovery of existence of Higgs Boson particle will validate all the physics laws as we know them today. If CERN cannot find this particle then all hose laws of Physics developed by scientists over the centuries are wrong and cannot be justified, including the famous E=MC2!!
I think the quest for the Theory of Everything - the holy grail of Physics rests on the discovery of this tiny particle!
As for the irrational fear of Black Holes, they happen all the time in our Universe, including in the Earths atmosphere. Such Black Holes have also occurred in Physics labs. However, their existence is but for a mere thousandth or hundredth of a second and are not a threat unless scientists find a way to nourish them by feeding them with matter!
FYI - "The Gods Particle" by Leon Lederman would be an excellent read even for a layman!
Fine, feeding them with your matter, keep it in Europe. If suddenly you find a black whole popped up under your ***, consider ur warned.
We are in the reality of Linear TIME - the past, the present, the future, in that ordermay be we are too obsessed with time as a criterion..........
just for thought......what is time?how is it calculated..........?
time is something that is calculated from earth's rotation and revolution....it is just a mathematical eqation that man invented to measure the ageing process.......its not a physical quantity like temperature , volume etc.....so time basically cannot be manipulated like temperature -say you can change the temperature of a object and then bring it back to the same temperature.....this is not possible with time .....so the idea of time travel is bs
Interesting discussion here - sorry i got distracted momentarily.
Gubbi > What if they don't find the God Particle, the Higgs Boson - may be something else entirely different or worse nothing at all?
Are we back to square one - The Newtonian Reality?
well as you wish sir
dieing in a black hole would be something diffrent. when under the gravitational influence of a black hole the whole body will get enlongated first because of the diffrence of gravity between foot and head and then the molecules and atoms of the body would be ripped apart before ending into black hole. and guess what anyways you ended up inside alive you will be blided with the light beacuse that is supposed to be the brightiest place because the light has never reflected back. SO the black hole is the brightest place in the whole of universe from inside.
The Restaurant at the End of the Universe in Hitch hiker's guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams[talented mind and died young too]. I hv the book - haven't had the chance to go thru it yet.Rather than enter the black hole and have my molecules torn apart, I would love to build a house on the Event Horizon and watch the spectacle from my living room bar!!!!
You should read "Death by Black Hole" by Degrasse Tyson (was one of the contenders for NASA director's post)!
"Restaurant at the End of the Universe" gargleblaster shots anyone?
