What's new

A new realism - A must read for Pakistanis

@Color_Less_Sky

Bro, we are both adult guys. We both on a personal level mean each other no harm. But neither of us is under any delusions about what is going on. No sense throwing threats at each other on the net man. What's going to be done is going to be done, regardless. Is being done even as we type these posts to each other here.

I think I started the thread on a positive note. You jumped on my throat about Afghanistan. India wants a huge economic block to work with and lead. For prosperity and influence. There is nothing wrong in that aim whatsoever.

Now you have to ask yourself what exactly about that is pricking you? The fact that its India leading (obvious, given our size)? Or the fact that you are lagging so far behind?

Of course you can solve all your own problems on your own and grow on your own without India.

But having a les hostile India is going to make it that much easier for you. The same vice versa (a less hostile Pakistan, for India to do and grwo better) is not of anywhere close to equal impact.

Hope you get my gist.

Unless we don't become the next Israel.
A light concept of Israel Indian Govt is following such an attitude. And we are several times higher than the Israel. But I dont think they fully follow the Israel.
Last time Musharaf and Vajpayee tried for a peace. Then it was a necessity to us.Now it is not even a second priority. Now our leaders thinks a compromise with Pakistan on their own terms woukd sacrifice our interests and great power status. That was the also a reason for calling off secretary level talks with Pakistan.
For Pakistan these rivalry already took a great toll on their economy and eating up its other necessary social spending. But for us it is just a less than 2% spending .But we are spending heavily for infras and other social activities like education ,health etc.Means rivalry with Pakistan dont affect our economy .But in Pakistan situation is vice versa and on top of that terrorism and ops like Zarb e Zarb .

That is why I believe Kashmir issue wont solve through talking.Eventually they will face a situation that they havr to give up the entire claims on Kashmir.

Personally, I don't think any Indian is unduly worried whether they maintain their claim or they give up their claim.

Yes Kashmir is a secondary issue for us now(fortunately!).
The ppl of Kashmir have realised that Pak used their shoulders to put its gun.
6 years of good governance should relegate the kashmir issue further.
But the problem would arise when Pakistan fails to control the terrorist activities within itself. God forbid, if they touch a point of no return then we would also 've to pay its price. Insurgencies would increase and so would the communal violence within India.
Ergo its imperative to 've a peaceful neighbourhood for our own good.
Only ppl living within Pakistan can help themselves, their government is a wussy and very corrupt.

I agree.Infact we should completely ignore their attention seeking. Our media should also do that

Media has to sell. Arnab has to throw fits.

Arnab has now been banned by the BJP btw. CNN IBN's Jacob is raw and getting washed up in his commnity's anti Hindu rhetoric.

Headline Today has Raj Creep Sardesai.

NDTV has Radia Dutt.

I am going to shift to Hindi news now. Preferably DD. Anyways I am watching WC on DD because my bastard cable guy is asking me to pay for Star.

Sorry I dont get it,how the turmoils in their nation cause communal violence in here.If they go in haywire all we have to do is to completely cordonn off LoC .
Completely shut down their channels and others in here.
Nuke is only thing that we need to concern. And international community is in there to close that part .

Let me tell you what the people on the ground (our Army) think.

Kashmir is never going to be "solved" in the sense you guys dream about it being solved.

Kashmir is never going to be solved in the way 1.25 billion Indians want it to be solved. Which is 370 will probably never be removed. AFSPA is there to stay. And the Pandits are never going to return home.

Kashmir status quo suits everyone who is in a position to change it. From all three sides.

The rest of us can want whatever we want and can keep writing thousands of pages about it online.

@SarthakGanguly @third eye
That is beautifully put.

Fingers crossed!
That would effect our country too.

For selfish reasons I want Pakistan to recover from this mess.
For India, the present state of confusion in Pakistan is probably the best. Recovery would get new ideas, more Musharrafs.

.
Survival of the fittest theory!
Congress is struggling to survive, while Pakistan can survive only if they get a better leader.
Not just a plain democratic leader but a ruthless one too who can quell dissent voices coming from within the country in order to put the nation on right track though chances of such leaders are bleak....
