The thing that you are talking about is itself freedom of expression.expression. Criticism is one man's inalienable right, should it be taken away because it hurts someone belief, Yes...but only in the rarest of rare cases and only when it comes under hate speech. If we go by your logic, i cannot offer genuine criticism or concern on any topic, because someone will hold it sacred to them.
I only hope you do not get yourself involved in such arguments with a person who does not agree with you, but`believes` in closing the argument physically. In the meantime you are free to criticise all those i mentioned above, because for you ,nothing is sacred or above criticism.Good luck.

Dont get me wrong, critisism is the most essential part of society.I'll give you an indian wxample....sati was practiced in india long ago, raja rajmohan roy abolished it with continuous criticism of that practice, many indians at that time held it sacred, according to you rajmohan roy was indeed criticizing something sacred, As for your part about nothing sacred to me, yes i agree , if there is a fault that i perceive then under the fundamental right guaranteed to me by indian constitution i am free to exercise my opinions on that subject matter unfettered by whose sentiments i hurt.Again understand, there is a thin line b/w hate speech and right to expression which is handled by courts on a case to case basis.Again by the same token i respect your opinions on the subject to remain quiet and being mindful of others sentiments but would like to end myself with a reminder to you by the famous poem by pastor martin niemoller :

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

The gist of it is to speak up, if you feel there is wrong.Hurt Sentiments can be soothed, but wrong done once cannot be righted.Good bye.

There is a difference between criticism and outright hate though and most people can tell the difference. That being said blasphemy law in Pakistan has never been used the way it is written and so needs to be sent to the garbage bin.

You didn't get my point. You can criticize pagan gods, its not blasphemy....you cant however criticize islam, because its selectively protected under blasphemy law.On one hand i oppose the law itself as just another protectionist gimmick curtailing individual freedom by state for soothing of local islamic population,on the other hand the law biased it may be is further biased by its selective application .Its like two boxers in a cage, one can punch if he wants the other however cant.

As you can see i have already agreed that hate speech does not come under the ambit o right to expression. But very very careful approach should be taken to consider what constitutes hate speech and each such case must be handled by courts on a case to case basis with an unbiased constitution to whom they can refer it to.

1. you also criticize and abuse Islam but dont do the same to your own pagan gods .

2. misuse of law indeed is there but its not limited to pagans or non-Muslims, a good number of Muslims have been victim.

bwahahahahahaha does praising OBL harms anyone like abusing Islam or calling Muslims puppies by Hindu extremists ?

1 .I can do both, criticize my gods , my practice(just above i have critisized sati) but make sure its in a scholarly fashion and not under hate speech. Its an individual choice , however in Pakistan one sects(muslims) are being protected even from normal criticism while the other side is left hanging.

2. Does not matter, does the other sect takes its consolation from the fact that some muslims have also been prosecuted under this law?A weird consolation , to say the least.

Unless you see a fundamental wrong in this law, all this discussion is futile.

In short, you have the former worlds most wanted man and we have a some guy with a gun.
that worlds most wanted man was a CIA agent who died in 2006 ..i dont know who the **** was killed in Abbottabad ... and secondly why the hell his body thrown into ocean so that whale can take selfies with his dead body ?? yara sadam and gaddafi ka sath kun nai ye kea?? what the ****

The really disappointing part is Pakistanis still support a terrorist and murderer even after professsing to be US allies.

The US govt should start lidtening to likes of Robert Gates and slap some sanctions to bring Pakistanis to their senses soon enough.

Hush no tears only dreams now.
