What's new

a modest proposal from the Soviets...duly rejected by Indian Babudom

..another brilliant suggestion ......you continue to amaze us :pop:

let us club authors along with politicians and babus in the list of people to be hanged. We can add more as we move along :enjoy:

Hey I edited the post. I checked other sites and its affordable. I was stating an obvious problem. Sometimes blind capitalism doesn;t work in India. Entrepereneurs should create a huge online library with free access and authors get compensated accordingly in India. At least by then the Akash tablet would be ready and given to millions to help the masses. Why won;t you offer some insight on how to help India you dick. I guess you never heard terms like Social Finance or Social Financial engineering right dick?

Well if we didn't immersed them then , why not now . Now also we can track graduates in many countries and train them to create a better dynamic pool of scientists. I know for instance few guys who passed from top notch universities in states are looking for jobs in arms industries and space tech. But as they say there are not many jobs as it used to be.

why are you guys bashing our leader ship..whats was our economic situation then??country was nearly bankrupted and it was p.v.n who started economic reforms to save the country.we were in worse condition compared to russia...and its because of him india is like this today..can we be able to afford such a large pool of scientists??times have changed now..many russian scientists stay in india ..i myself know that in vizag they are given a 4 star hotel accomodation, cars to rome, a card of 1 lakh for expenses excluding salary and free meal in the hotel....before bashing our leaders we must remember that we are the one who elected them...
Yes it was PVR Narsima Rao who started Economic Reform ''Because'' he was not left with any other option {all thanks to economic policies our so called leaders and Babu's... ''Hindu Rate of Growth''.. }..as IMF had put forward Economic Reforms as a condition for bailing out India from that economic mess........So their is no need to give him unneccesary credit ....

I think that is a good start but that was an opportunity of a life time.....you wouldn;t be getting new grads who you have to mold and train which requires additional funding and expertise but we would have gotten seasoned experienced Russian military scientists.

india was a young democracy then and adopted a more closed socialistic kind of economy inorder to decrease social inequalities.. but it was a big flop..and as u said there was no option left but to open the economy...we are still experimenting with our economy...nobodies expert by birth...
on the topic : owing to our worst economy we cudnt afford those scientists and so we rejected the offer smoothly..noth wrng i guess

You keep on making excuses when I just gave examples of how to accomodate such scientists. What is the point of making excuses....we need to learn from mistakes.....and we aren;t learning ****

According to FAS.ORG, several Russian naval engineers were in India since 1991, working on Project ATV

Which means India got at least some experienced personnel

DRDO is also reportedly seeking design assistance from former engineers and defense workers of the former Soviet Union. Several Russian naval engineers are reported to have been in India since 1991.

Richard Sharpe, the editor of Jane's Fighting Ships recently stated to Indian Age that "the Russian submarine-design bureau Rubin is cooperating with the DRDO in developing the sub's 190 MW PWR, and that the Indian navy already tested a nuclear-propulsion system ashore."

On Topic> I suspect that GoI denied the proposal only publicly, but agreed to take at least some dozen naval engineers, defense workers and missile scientists of former USSR

Every major power looted the russian tech during collapse.

Yeah but they can go back anytime. They are helping us out. The other scenario would have made those personnel our employees.....much differetn situation

yeah right...india is waitn for u...go on and make wonders... but in order to grow in the future we must know our weaknesses today..ppl like you who argue with out any rationale must keep it in mind...i understand ur despateion..i too want india to grow fast...but nothing goin to change in overnight..getting some russian scientists was like buying some 10 a.c.c today..which we cannot afford

Please do not disrespect PV Narsimha Rao. He was one of India's greatest Prime Minister.

Its a shame how gujaral got a state funeral while Sri. PV Narsimha Rao body was left half burnt at the cremation ground by the congress just because Sonia Gandhi hated him. It breaks my heart and shames me.

Sri. PV Narsimha Rao was a genuine freedom fighter who apart from being the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and had also served as Indian Home Minister, Defence Minister and Foreign Affairs minister and finally Prime Minister.

Not only did he have a Masters in Law but spoke eight Indian langues (Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Oriya, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tami) and 8 foreign languages (English, French, Arabic, Spanish, German, Greek, Latin and Persian).

The economic reform that was implemented by 'Maun' Mohan singh in 1991 was actually drawn up by him and Dr. IG Patel in 1990 itself. In fact MMS was not even his first choice as Finance Minster, Dr. IG Patel was (IAS, Padma Vibhushan, Director of RBI, Director of London School of Ecnomics).

He was the one who reversed idiot Rajiv Gandhi's moratorium on Nuclear Arms Research and made arrangements for Nuclear test to be conducted. (..which was delayed and conducted by Vajpayee)

I can only hope that you have insulted a great man (who is no more there to defend his good name) out of ignorance.

our first approach was only socialistic and closed economy..later with its failure we opened our economy partially.but liberalised with certain restrictions...and we are neither completely western nor soviet.. do some research before you post..western economy almost privatised with some exceptions unlike ours...

and i say we performed rather well inspite of all the problems we have at home with only 66 years of independence..whats 66 yrs in the evolution of a nation???ofcourse i agree that there are some problems with our leadership and all..but as the system matures problems get sorted out..people are getting active increasingly...it took america 300 years to reach this stage...dont expect change overnight
