I have heard about a similar kind of hydel power plant in Azad kashmir...
and ssome wind driven plants in gilgit baltistan but they are never highlited

thousands of mini streams fall and make river indus and if these kinds of micro hydel projects are encouraged then power need of hilly areas will not require large transmission networks

The Northern Areas and KPK provide abundant opportunities for stuff like this, Pak Army also did these sort of projects for far flung villages in FATA.

This should be encouraged by the government, this way villages will get electricity at low cost, no line losses and local electricity.
