I think people here dont understand, claiming it as law makes it worse.
You not only have individuals with such views, you have institutionalized it.

Besides being the PM & President of the country, I think a Pakistani from any religion is entitled to be everything a Pakistani Muslim can be. Just like naturalized American citizens like me cannot become the President of the US. Not trying to defend the actions though, all I'm saying is that 'discrimination' against citizens is not uncommon in other countries as well. Similarly, a Muslim non-Pakistani working in Pakistan is not eligible for most things either that a non-Muslim Pakistani is.

But big difference here is Americans are discrimination against naturalized US citizens(People from other countries) ..while you are differentiating amongst your own born, brought up minorities.

Many pakistani members, who argue with logic and reason in other threads seem to have lost their senses.
They not only say it is right, they seem to argue that because it is made law(not sure if true), it is right.

There is no such law, people are saying wrong.Pakistan's law protect minorities and give equal rights

Naturalized US citizens are US citizens, not foreign citizens. Meaning they should have the right to become the President of the US. You would not find this kind of discrimination even in India or Pakistan. For example: if an Indian citizen becomes a naturalized American citizen, he/she surrenders his/her Indian passport (meaning they aren't Indian citizens anymore) & gets his/her American passport.

in U.K can an indian immigrant who has assumed british nationality or is a natural born citizen of U.k become King of England?:bunny:
or can bal thakery become the next pope? There are limitations and laws in every country that are to be respected:agree:

Just to highlight the loopholes in your argument....

Firstly, you are comparing a monarchy with a democracy. It is understood that under a monarchy, all citizens dont have equal rights.

Secondly, you are comparing between an immigrant and a citizen of a country. Are you suggesting that non-Muslims living inside Pakistan are as good as immigrants??It is expected that at least all the citizens within a country will have equal rights.

A naturalized American is a US citizen after he has completed his immigration. Yet, he does not have the right to become the President of America.

Yes you are right one doesn't find such discrimination in India or Pakistan..

but Pakistan's own discrimination in my opinion is worse because it is against the people who have been born and brought up there just because they have a different religion.
