thats why no one cares what Indians think, and you people are living in delusion, your pony economy is based on Import and primitive consumption, so the nominal measure in Dollar is more suited for India..

In economics there is something called a purchasing power parity...PPP ratio for India is 3:1. ie one dollar spent in India will buy you the same goods or services that $3 spent in US.
A guy earning $2/day in US would woefully poor..even unable to fulfill basic sustenance...That is why US govt defines its poverty line $22,350/yr(for a family)...equivalent to $15/day per person.
But since good and services are much cheaper in India ..an average person is able make his ends meet at much more cheaply.
