80,000 soldiers ready to take part in biggest cross-border op in Turkey’s modern history

. . . . . .
Turkey made a big blunder when it supported the rebellion against Bashar Al Assad. They needed him as an ally to keep Syrian Kurds in check and Iraq government as ally to keep Iraq kurds in check, lastly Iran as an ally to keep Irani kurds in check. It would have been a good alliance. Instead they supported MB for rebellion and made Egypt Syria as enemy states. Then UAE and and Saudi as regional rivals. This has isolated Turkey and made it weaker.

I hope Erdogan realises this and makes an alliance with Iran Iraq Syria Lebanon Russia China and then keeps in good terms with Saudi Egypt and UAE and slowly increase Turkey reach through Sudan Morocco Libya Algeria.

We all know Saudi Arabia claims to be the leader of the ummah and will not like this. They will use their political, wealth and religious power(through certain sect) to challenge Turkey and Iran till the end of times.

The 5 strongest Muslim countries are all fighting their own wars.
KSA, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and Egypt.

Egypt and Pakistan are skint and only defend their own borders.

KSA and Iran are very rich and have secure borders and so are on an expansion drive. They use blackmail, money, aid, economic package, investments, friendship to spread their version of Islam in order to influence and expand their power, the more people they recruit the more influence.

Turkey to me is a new power trying to revive it's long lost glory. The Arab governments hate them deeply. UAE and Egypt openly stated that Turkey has no chance with them, and Saudi is very quiet but deadly player.

Syria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon are natural allies for Turkey. Pakistan is already in love with Turks :) , so Russia and China can be allies. Turkey should tone down on anti western propaganda and build good relation with Europe and America. No country from middle east or Asia can be as close to the west than Turkey so they need to build on their strong points. This will make Turk a powerful modern nation.

But at the moment all i see from Erdogan are emotions and not politics and strategies. He needs to keep Europe and USA on his side, then alliance with Iran will lead to Russia and alliance with Pakistan will lead to China. Leave the middle east with their backstabbers.

Erdogan is atleast taking a step towards securing his borders. 80,000 troops means atleast 6-7 Infantry or mechanised divisions involved, sending across this much force across the border is not an easy decision. Pakistan has utilised a force of this massive number with-in it borders. Thats a massive difference. Now if Pakistani military was take a step into a foreign territory to secure it borders, it would be interesting to see if the numbers go beyond 5000 or 10,000 troops, apart from against India. Turkey has allies in rag tag formations fighting Assad, and Turkey supports them openly and militarily. In Afghanistan, Pakistan first distanced itself from its allies (Taliban) and then completely stopped supporting them in any sense. Pakistan's border with Afghanistan is also not safe, so yes a land operation inside afghanistan should have been on the cards, but its next to impossible on such a high scale. Afghanistan is also a hostile geography, and setting up a military base in Afghanistan is next to suicide. However even if Afghanistani territory and geography was not lethal, Pakistan still might not have ventured into Afghanistan with a ground force intending to openly support Taliban against TTP, BLA etc, who are training and camping in Afghanistan.

There are no permanent friends or enemies in international politics, only interests which dictate the basis for making decisions. In no way would i call Erdogan emotional, passionate yes. He has gone through trials and tribulations, the severest one being a coup, no emotional man can last this long.

KSA-Iran discussion is futile, egos cant be fought, especially when religion is involved.
