8 Reasons Why India Is So Poor

Keep you phony stats to yourself, when I see the average Pakistani and the average Indian, I see a world of difference.:agree:
Those phony stats are given to UN by Pakistani Govt.

I acknowledge many people like you will be skeptical about Pakistani Govt statistics on poverty given the last census happened in 1998

but right now its a conjecture whether Pakistani Govt statistics are phony as no smoking gun to prove otherwise exits.

Yup.. average Pakistani.. your display pic shows that
Average individual from Indus area is by far better looking and physically in better nick than your Ganga land.PERIOD, their is a reason Sikhs are your finest soldiers.

.
Not necessarily

Chinese have massive corruption compared to us

In a span of 9 years they have lost $1.3 trillion in corruption than what India has lost since its independence

Despite this China is more developed than India :china:

For a country like India, corruption does make a huge dent.
Poverty allevation and food security programs never are able to fully materialize because of the level of siphoning that happens from the budget allocated to these schemes.

I cant speak for China, but it is a massive problem in India.
Corruption may not be the only problem but is a huge contributor.

@django Satellites imagery is being developed to use as matrix for measuring development. This is because statistics are so unreliable and subject to bending by countries whereas satellites offer a more objective outlook. I tell you these phony Gangoo's are about to get their backsides exploded. I saw some reports collated from these sattelites light pollution models and guess what? Pakistan is leap years ahead of India. I will post a thread on this exciting new way of measuring development in another thread.

More like India is a rich country, but with a relatively poor population ?

India is a very very complex country, So it's not easy to address some of these issues as elsewhere, India is an enigma where you will see abject poverty and wealth beyond vanity coexisting side by side, You dont see that in any other country in the world and majority of it's upper and middle class population seem quite comfortable with that status quo

But i have seen great changes as well as someone that have been to the country several times over the years rapid changes, And yes caste is a major impediment for human development there but there is also alot of Indians coming out of poverty, With a more educated population caste is gradually diminishing atleast in the urban area's when it comes to daily lives of the people (Inter caste marriage and stuff is another matter).. A long way to go but there is a lot of optimism, Sometimes that optimism turns in to irrational nationalism mainly in online forums like this one, But in real life most Indians i know accept the reality and the struggle ahead and they know the massive potential of their country.. And they're determined to get there
Thankyou!...Respect for your post!

Despite all the hype of IITs India lacks any innovation, even the so called geniuses of IITs are nothing more than mere bookworms, tell them to think outside the box and they would be completely lost, this lack of innovation is one of many reasons that has lead to a large chunk of the Indian population living in conditions that are so dire that they make the folks living in sub-Saharan Africa look like they are living in Shangrilla.
I am replying to your bolded part!....

I wouldn't rate India as a rich country until per capita income goes more than $20K. It is a developing country. China and India have the same issue that you cannot of upliftment of a billion people at the same time. Industrialization and infrastructure is the answer.

India has bigger wallet just because it has way more people and thus a better GDP. India also has a parallel economy which with recent efforts can stream into the current one. Hope this helps.

Can you provide a brief description of what this is so I can read about this?
