700 Baloch militants surrender before Pakistan Army: FC Commander

Baluchistan needs to be nurtured. It is the bosom of our country, we must suckle on it carefully.

Uneducated and poor people, having little or no source of income tend to take up arms on a mullah's call giving guarantee for care of family by immediate life's resources, like food and water. Most of the low level fighters have no intention to liberate the province or impose Shariah. Half of them fight for money, rest of them fight for avenge to infidels.

Since late 2012, the FC has been involved in heavy operations (which didn't make the headline or side-story, ever) and the militants from BLA, BRA and LeT faced heavy casualties. Several hundreds were killed, others captured. Countless miscreants' bases, training camps and other posts have also been destroyed. This would forced others to surrender, this it isn't their war they are engaging in. What point do they see in dying when there isn't a sense of goal or achievement, be living or dead?

But lets not forget the sacrifices of those FC jawans who fought for us in the past few years to made all these surrenders possible.

Like other members said it might not be out of good of heart. They were left with no other choice. I think most of them have realized that with NATO withdrawal very near it is useless to fight for a stupid cause and die for someone sitting in Switzerland. They are humans after all. They won't like to put their lives in danger for no clear motive.

In my opinion PA should not have let them go so easily...
Give them a few "shows of power" in jail, and make sure they NEVER get to join BLA... atleast not in a wheelchair ;)

Actions speak Louder than words :pakistan: #Respect

wrong opinion many baloch fight and forced to fight on the order of a jacka$$ living in switzerland they are innocent Pakistanis just like us all they want is a job and education for their children because many baloch who surrendered admit this thing.though don't have the links I have seen it in a program ekhtalaf

Maybe 40 this year and 700 till date.

Is it 700 or 40?

40 is the figure from Dera Bugti alone.

Let's see where the marbles are missing. !! ;)

ISLAMABAD: Frontier Corps Commander in Dera Bugti Col Shaz ul Haq Janjua has said about 700 Baloch militants have laid down the arms before the army at Dera Bugti so far in response to government offer for general amnesty and rehabilitation.[/B]

Talking to BBC Urdu program, he said about 40 militants have laid down their arms uptill now during this year in Dera Bugti and they all are residents of Dera Bugti and Sui.

I think 40 are those who surrender in Dera Bugti alone.

Like many of our colleagues have commented it is the economy stupid!!

If people can have a living and see prospects for themselves and their children then they are unlikely to forment trouble.

In fact a recent study has shown that if people live in a squalid neighbourhood they tended to make it more squalid, if the same neighbourhood is cleaned and made nice, the same people living there would change and they would keep it nice, but also other factors improved such as a reduction in criminality, increase in school attendance, reduction in diseases etc.

Hence, the policy of a big carrot and a bid stick will help to dampen the feeling of injustice these Pakistanis in Balochistan feel. Jobs and income will keep them satisfied and the stick to get them to realise the carrot is a better option then a bullet in the head.

Encouraging news in the midst of all the problems we are having with terrorists/extremists and the war we are fighting on our Western fronts ! One wonders how the situation is somehow improving as the withdrawal draws nearer . Are the militant leaders running out of funds from foreign countries ?

Great job , FC :pakistan:

Obviously.
It is the effect of the defence budget cuts, which, the enemy countries of Pakistan are facing.
If Pakistan provides jobs & education to every citizen of its country, these separatist groups will die automatically.

The credit goes to Nawaz shareef, not FC or Army........faujis were making mess of a simple matter.

These baloch militants were signaled by their sardars to surrender, baloch people dance to the tunes of their sardars, keep sardar your friend , his tribesmen would follow him......

All Pakistan has to do is to buy all sardars of Baloch nation and keep them happy.......

These baloch militants are not that dangerous , how many casualties they have inflicted on a paramiliatry force like FC?.....they were hiding in mountains and their only activity was killing settlers.......

The real danger to Pakistan are ideologically motivated taliban who dont surrender , are not controlled by malaks or khans and can not be bought.......

Challo jee, abb tu bramdad bugti bhi shazain key sath siparaa parhney jaey gaa, nawaz bhai key madarsey mien?
Ohhh, so baluchistan is libreated by BLA now?
Come on , till bramdad bugti not come back & face the justice, its all crap media challo reporting! Just to be paid by nawaz sharif,s raiwind mill?
BTW its funny & stupid mentality, which says let every killer be freed just because he was poor, or misguided?
Why then we hve so many prisoners in the jails then? Let them all go? Just to give them the 2nd chance to kill some 1 again?
