62% Bangladeshi users to have smartphones by 2025: Report

“Some 15 crore handsets are currently being used across Bangladesh. Of them, 40% entered the market illegally or were brought in from abroad. However, all the unauthorized handsets that consumers started using before July 1 will be brought under the approval of the NIER registration program,” BTRC Director General Brig Gen Md Shahidul Alam told Dhaka Tribune.

The NIER registration program will pave the way for the authorized importers of mobile handsets by restricting the use of illegal handsets. It will help prevent cloning and theft, and boost revenue collection.

Again, Bangladeshi sources are unreliable. No two ways about it. How many of these are smartphones BTW?

Plus based on above news Bangladesh produces 11 million smartphone annually for local market that excludes the illegally and legally imported smartphone.

Again, a Bangladeshi source which is rather unreliable. I will go with IDC statistics.

Now don’t embarrass yourself saying GCC does not 6 cr population so how Bangladesh has got 6 cr illegal handset.

You are beyond hope. No source, no data not even a hypothesis.

To reach the same level of consumption as India, you need ~50 million more smartphones worth roughly $6 billion in 5 years. Which came out from thin air, obviously.

India is poor country than Bangladesh and that’s the reality.

With 2.5- 8X per capita consumption? You can keep your fudged GDP per capita, we'll happily keep our higher consumption stats.

BTRC is implementing NIER to detect illegal handset and they don’t have any idea on illegal handset? A typical Indian logic when got busted.

If 11 million smartphone is produced locally each year counting the legal and illegal import what the total number becomes for smartphone?

Bangladesh’s total annual consumption of smartphone is higher than India, so is the total usage.

As mentioned earlier 80% feature phone are produced locally so most smuggled phones are smart phones.

I gave another report earlier counting all smartphones it’s estimated there are 113.6 million smartphone in Bangladesh way higher percentage wise than piss poor India.

Plus Bangladeshis are more well connected to internet than India.

You can keep spinning stories. I will be back when there is actual data. Bye bye.

.
At present 106.33 million subscriber uses mobile internet. Is it possible with feature phones? That’s another indication of smartphone users in Bangladesh.

No one is waiting for your coming back. Go back to your slum for a nap.
Bangladesh has 70.5% population with internet access where as the number is only 57% for India.:cry::cry::rofl::rofl:

Nice try, posting a non-standardized data source. From BTRC.

If one uses proper sources, like ITU...

Percentage of Individuals using the Internet

India 33%
Bangladesh 15%

Exactly the kind of figures one expects. Nothing surprising there.

One smartphone could take in 2 or sims. Thus this figure has no value.

Where as this is more relevant.

Average data consumption per smartphone at 14.6 GB per month in India continues to be the second-highest in the world, according to the Ericsson Mobility Report 2021.

.

As and when your internet data consumption goes up, more and more startups will come up in internet space. In India, this year startups have come up with $22 billion in funding so far. You would be embarrassed with the corresponding Bangladesh figures.

Your pant is on fire still trying to lie?

Posting fugue of 2019 and so called data of ITU which has different measuring mechanism what’s the point here? So many times in the past we discussed and busted you on same topic. But even with that you might get a heart attack like your friend if they update the figure this year.

The reality is now Bangladesh has 110.90 million internet user in June, raise from 107.50 million in May.

Bangladesh itself has got 3.4 million mobile internet user in June, 2021.

Both Bangladesh and India has different user pattern. In Bangladesh poor segment of the society is coming online. You can’t expect a high internet usage from them. They use internet for basic usage like Facebook, viber, what’s up, may watch YouTube video once in a while.

Where as hardly Indian poor and villagers ha internet access or at least few years away from having it.

India focused on IT back in 1990s so India may see more startup but Bangladesh has started to focus on it. In next few years you will see output.

Lastly my suggestion skip Vedic number prediction like 5 trillion usd economy by 2025 as prescribed by your Modiji.

Arey dumbo, when in India you can get 30 GB of mobile data with only 149 rupees, why do you think poor/villagers will not have access?
Who are all these startups and ecommerce companies are catering to then?

Amazon receives orders from 99.3% of India's pin codes during festive sale

Mutual fund investments coming from 95% pin codes in India: Phone Pe report

Digital payments boom in rural India, right time to push financial services: Report

Our poor and villagers are investing in mutual funds, that's the level of access they have. While you by your words said what your dumb villagers do (occasionally that too).

You Bangladeshis are really stupid, start ups grow when there is market, not because you set up an IT firm. India had IT for past 30 years, its only in past decade ecommerce is growing. Bangladesh is not even market to be considered to yet. Your consumption is abysmal. Your entire luxury consumption would be less than a mid sized town in India. lol.

How about this? Indian startups would raise by the end of the year, about 80% of your total exports. This is pure cash and doesn't involves costs as in your exports. How sad is that?

When it comes to predictions, no one can beat Bangladeshi fake bravado. From budgeted revenue numbers to consumption numbers all are predictions made when someone is smoking some good shit.

India has significantly less internet users than Bangladesh as I shown earlier 70%+ vs 57%.

Don’t quote me for your garbage stories.

lol, after making idiotic claims like half of GCC smartphone sales being smuggled to Bangladesh, the arithmetically & logically challenged idiot is back with even more dumb arguments. You busted what? This is the first time you have heard that name, isn't it? :D

''So-called data'' of ITU Vs Bangladesh' fudged data from BTRC-Which defines an internet subscriber as this...

Internet Subscriber means subscribers/subscriptions who have accessed the internet at least once in the preceding 90 days.

And then comparing it with totally different standard-based data about India, lol.

When calculated using a standard methodology, you have half the number of individuals using the internet when compared with India. No one cares about the definitions you use, as you are an irrelevant nation.

Lol idiot like you only can make claim that BTRC data is fuzz but at the same time quote ITU which takes data from BTRC itself.

The telecommunication union never runs any independent report for any country.

The ITU data itself even by their standard is outdated and couple of years old probably used data from 2015.

Bangladesh has more internet users than piss poor India and that’s the fact.

The earlier clowns, poor and uneducated Indian accept it the better for them to avoid further embarrassment.

And they do proper analysis & vetting before publishing any data. And their data confirms with globally established standards. And it's clearly seen that the percentage of internet users in Bangladesh is a very low 15%.

Bangladesh has half the number of internet users & 2/5th the smartphones sales when compared with India, per capita. Such a poor nation.

This information was brought to you by reputed orgs like IDC & ITU, not BBS BRTA whatever clowns.

What's total data consumption in India and Bangladesh ?
That will shed more light on the topic..

The thing we should be pursuing is Data Consumption PER CAPITA.

India is eight times larger in economy and nine times larger in population, roughly, compared to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has 160 million and India has 1.4 Billion folks.

@Black_cats bhai is right that GINI coefficient wise, Indian section of poor people may be proportionately larger. There is deeper wealth inequality in India (especially considering BIMARU states situation). Not everywhere in India is like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and TN...and poor people from poorer states will have a tougher time getting access to smartphones and Internet access.

Bangladesh e-Govt. services are pretty extensive, though I will admit, not yet all that reliable all the time.

Thanks to NGO's and Govt. policies, Bangladesh situation may be slightly better (though not maybe by much).

Nothing to celebrate, yet.
