6 surprises that greet a Pakistani in India

.
Delusion wont let you sleep but definatily let you dream.. woke up buddy..
its happening only in Kashmir you will see more and more attacks comming not cuz we wanted its cuz your way of handeling Kashmir..
Kashmiri is begging india to leave them alone they dont want your democrazy and education they will solve their own issues have india feed their own 600 million poor people yet.. what a lame excuse seriously
let them decide what they want..

Don't think you will get Kashmir. Everyone in India understands the mindset of the ISLAMIC RADICALS.

Kashmir is not the end. The TERRORISTS/ISLAMIC RADICALS would continue to attack India forever. The only solution is to decrease or remove RADICALS from Pakistan society.

ISLAMIC RADICALS not only want Kashmir, they also want Hyderabad/Junagad. They also want revenge fo Babri. They also want revenge for Gujarat. They also have problems with India being so much more powerful.

So first India should give Kashmir, then give Hyderabd/Junagad, then destroy Indian economy, then unleash bloody terrorist attacks against the Kafirs in India on a daily basis. Make India as Afghanistan was under Taliban.

I don't think anything less then above would satisfy the ISLAMIC RADICALS in Pakistan.

Someone has to be a fool of biggest order to think ISLAMIC RADICALS want only Kashmir. What they want is complete destruction of India.

The liberals never seek more lands. It is always the RADICALS only. As India has a sane govt. and more liberal people in the admin. therefore you see India sometimes also offer to convert LOC to IB.

demand for Kashmir is the demand of the ISLAMIC RADICALS, and not the liberal Pakistanis, and this is not the end of their agenda. As already said, only complete destruction of India would satisfy ISLAMIC RADICALS.

Nice to read such heart warming articles. The fact is that we were one people not long ago and we should not be surprized at the similarities but i know its nice to reassert them. I wonder what does a pakistani write when s/he returns from Iran or Arab. I personally never feel i am in another country when i travel to Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri lanka.

Author mentioned about beef eating dalits. I have never come across such people among hindus, dalit or otherwise, who will cook beef at home or order in a restaurant. Though i know some brahmins and other hindus who have eaten beef when abroad and they knew what they were eating. Beef in India is served either in 5 star hotels or very low end muslim restaurants where a hindu will never enter. Beef is considered a cheap meat for low end people and middle class and rich muslims avoid eating it.

Meat eating habits among hindus are very confusing in my country and i wish the author got a chance to notice it. They will not eat non veg on a particular day like tuesday or saturday or some auspicious day, half of the family, mostly women, will be strict vegetarian, the lady will not eat non veg but will cook for her husband and children, some will have separate utensils for non veg, some wont allow non veg at home and eat only in restaurants. some will eat only fish or only chicken or mutton. most hindus prefer smaller pieces of meat and feel nausiatic if they see a big portion. Most of them will suddenly turn vegetarian for ever.

I think India should make all efforts to support the liberals in Pakistan.

Keep making efforts to talk, improve trade and commerce. Try to promote LIBERAL EDUCATION/DEMOCRACY/ECONOMY in Pakistan.

ECONOMIC PROGRESS and LIBERAL Education is the solution to decrease the radicals in society. The textbooks of Pakistani schools need to be changed, to talk about Hindu/Muslims unity and friendship, rather then hatred.

This would also improve the relations of India/Pakistan.

Obviously, Indian and Pakistani people get a long well - if it wasn't for the destructive politics played on both sides, we could have had a competitive yet friendly and beneficial relationship - sadly, the truth is very different.
Otherwise, if you want more experiences, just go and live in the UK or other hotspot for a while - you'll see you'll get a long very well with Indians.
Spot on! I have some very good Pakistani friends in France. Vacationing at the French Riviera that includes jet skiing, para sailing, speed boat excursions etc on the Mediterranean Sea is an awful lot of fun. No one thinks who's a Pakistan or Indian. Even the girls enjoy it!

But however, I would hasten to add that these Pakistani friends are the 'page 3' types and not the religious fundamentalists like the sheeple that are followers of nuts like Hafiz Saaed and Co!

And by the way, whilst in Paris I always go to Pakistani restaurants to gorge on the delicious, lip smacking fare dished out by them! And the staff there pay special attention to Indians - they even give me a 20% concession just because I'm an Indian!! :-)

As Shashi Tharoor (who was under Secretary General in the UN) says: Indians and Pakistanis overseas are almost always the best of friends, since being in foreign lands enhances their consciousness of what they have in common, which vastly exceeds what divides them.

How true!

@war khan ,well personally i think that the author has beautifully portrayed the similarities between the two countries although he has made a few wrong assumptions like Muslim people are not allowed to rent or buy houses in Dharmic housing communities because we have got a few Muslim families living in our locality(which is predominantly Hindu) for a long time and i don't think that they have ever been discriminated upon.Heck some of them even participate directly on the eve of the Durga Puja(most important Bengali ritual cu festival) by collecting voluntary donations from the people of the locality.
